O/S Daily Wednesday 28th February 2018
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, layer of snow here and very cold, wind chill is making it feel bitter.
DH up and gone to work, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit.
Dinner last night was chicken breast topped with stuffing then wrapped in bacon, mash, veg and gravy, apple and pear crumble & custard for dessert for those that wanted some. Some crumble left for another meal. Tonight it's fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg. I decided before leaving for work yesterday morning to get the chicken out and hope it had defrosted before I needed it for dinner, it had just by the time I got in so I was able to use what I had and not make an additional spend.
I'm working all day today then on days' off although I'm working Saturday. Yesterday was less busy than Monday but today I'm doing a different job so we'll see.
We're supposed to be on amber warning for the weather conditions, the forecast said we would wake up to a good snow fall, we have had some but not that much, but we're expecting The Beast of the East this afternoon, so that could change things somewhat, but at the moment - tomorrow there's no snow forecast just this awful wind, then snow and wind on an amber warning on Friday.
Keep safe and well x

Morning :hello:
Speky I'm sorry about the job x
Lainey Scampi has a fleece lined coat too, he hates anything on his body because he feels trapped but after a few minutes outside, he shivers. It took a while for him to get used to it but he's fine with it now. Still won't go for long walks in the cold though, he's ready for home after about 20 minutes.
Hollyharvey I hope the GP's meeting with the psychiatrist went well. He sounds supportive, you've got a good one there xx
We had a bit of snow during the day, I call it light flutterings but the local news compared it to dandruffIt suddenly went dark and came down really heavy at about 5pm and started to settle, but 20 minutes later it brightened up and stopped. The bit of snow is still there, I like to think of it as a good foundation for the snow to settle when it reaches us properly
We have an amber warning for tomorrow and friday, we don't usually get that here so it'll be interesting to see how bad it really is.
I'm just pottering again today. Vacuuming, a few top-ups for the drinkers to make sure they don't freeze over, a bit of washing. Miss tru will be home for lunch, we'll be eating off lap trays while watching Red 2Crochet later, as always.

Good morning all.
It was a very cold night here, cloudless sky meant the stars were visible, all very sparkly and beautiful. No snow yet.
HH - good to hear that your GP has been so good.
If my student in Oban doesn’t turn up for her first class then I won’t have to travel up. She hasn’t been in for other classes so here’s hoping.
I’ll be freezer diving today so food will be a surprise. My day may well be good.
Now I hope everyone has a happy Wednesday.0 -
Morning all
Our snow has gone but its bitterly cold here and going to be -3 or -4 all day, tomorrow and Friday we are meant to get snow all day both days,
Off to work for me again today Wednesday is my least favourite group but Thursdays group is manic and good fun.
Some pork fillets for dinner tonight with mash and veg so looking forward to that.
Specky I am sorry you did not get the job, I truly believe things happen for a reason you will look back in a while and say ahhhh that's why !! big hugs my lovely xx
Right better get on have good days all xx0 -
Morning, and thanks Nmlc. There is loads of snow here, and it's still blizzarding, the wind is also whipping it up.
My Tai Chi wasn't on yesterday, as the instructor lives in an outlying area where the snow was worse, I didn't think it would be on, but I called in at the Centre where it's held anyway, as I'd gone out for a few things.
No quiz last night either, unsurprisingly. The weather is truly terrible.
We would normally take Dgd for her swimming lesson tonight, but I don't know if it will still be on, we'll see.
Be careful if you are going out, folks, and stay warm0 -
Morning folks and welcome to yet another day in Snowy Paradise. Further snowfalls through the night and even heavier ones forecast for today. It's piled high in the gardens. The gritters came round yesterday and the main road down into town was kept open most of the day. Now covered yet again and there is no end in sight with more and more snow yet to come.
No DGDs to look after today. DD isn't working but doubt she will get them to school as I imagine they will be shut again.
Nothing but feeding and entertaining children got done yesterday so must catch up on a few jobs today. The pile of ironing is STILL there and rising higher by the day. I must tackle that if nothing else!
Some pasties out defrosting for lunch and will have with either soup or mushy peas. A hm minced beef hotpot thawing out for Mr TA's dinner tonight but I think some fish for me with butternut squash wedges and a bit of salad. (Not really salad weather but I don't want to end up chucking it all out)
It sounds like common sense has prevailed HOLLY with your new care plan. Your GP sounds a gem. Like NELSKI I doubt any of the GPs at my practice even know me. I have been summoned in for a medication review next week and the GP I am booked with neither knows me or me him!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all who want them, especially those with aggravating parents! Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning All,
Had some snow about 6pm last night - which is still laying. So will set out to work a bit earlier.
Sorry you did not get your job Speky x
Not much planned after work. I shall come home and hibernate.
Holby is on tonight(one evening later-due to football being on).

Morning all
All my exterior door locks froze up last night and so did the side gate. Had to leave everything unlocked which wasn't ideal.
Central heating has been taken off timer. The hounds are still getting me up in the early hours. What Grump doesn't know won't hurt him and I don't want a lecture. I'll just have to find a reason why the gas bill is so high.
Fresh snow over night. Nothing major but its turned to ice.
I keep dreaming I'm pregnant again. Three nights in a row. Totally impossible of course but I'd like to know if there's a reason.
Onwards and forwards
