Oooh, slight advantage hoving into view......something appears to have come up at work & Mr F now needs to put in a couple of hours WFH this afternoon. Comfortable sandals on......I'm on it! I've just thoroughly wound myself up reading the latest cr*pola from the interminable 'Who can be the most repellantly right-wing' contest, so I have lots of negative energy to burn off through the medium of steps.

I love your step competition with Mr F and your crafty strategies to try and get ahead of him 😂 . He sounds like a hard person to beat though as he seems to be a very active person. I'm not a fan of the heat either. You're doing really well in this heatwave.

Thanks, @HairyHandofDartmoor & @milann..I'm currently in the lead but the WFH has now finished & I'm.not sure what my opponent's next plans are. I can't hear any walking about though so I think I'll do a few lengths of the garden in between book chapters. I don't think I can win, but I'm not going to concede.

And here are today's money-saving wins:
*No parking charge as Mr F dropped me off.
*Found my £9.99 foundation on offer at 2 for £12.
*Bought a denim jacket in the sale. Not one of my turns-out-to be-rubbish sale rail buys of the Spendy Era. Not a coat, but substantial enough to wear into Autumn & bought a decent size to ensure I can wear a warm top underneath. Was reduced. Tried it on & when I took it to the till to buy, the assistant asked me if it was ok. I said "Yes" but just mentioned that the zip was a bit stiff, & she took an extra 10% off to make up for it.
*Bought a present to pop away in the Christmas stash.
*Today's garden pickings done - blackberries, 5 courgettes, 2 cukes, chillies & plenty of tomatoes.
*Wrote grocery shopping list for tomorrow & put containers ready for visiting new local eco-refill shop.
*Had my hair trimmed for my hair salon's amazing price of £10.
*Lots of free exercise trying to bump up my steps.
A breeze has finally blown in here & it's quite pleasant sitting in the shade. Looking forward to some reading time.
I must try & remember to tell you about a funny incident at Waitr*se this morning involving a naughty little boy.

So am I, @milann, as I'm not generally good in very hot weather, but I think it's something we're going to see more frequently, so I need to get used to it.......I don't think I'd ever get used to the 40° we saw recently, but I've decided I ought at least to try & function better in the high 20s & v low 30s. Doesn't mean I have to like it, though!

Jog on the spot for a bit behind the shed that’ll get your steps up without him knowing 🤣🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Oh my days, @Sun_Addict. Why didn't I think of that? Off to do it now, but in front room as he's in the garden.
I'm still ahead atm!!

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My new charging cable has arrived today - kicking myself for losing the other one as I'm at 3500 steps already just from about 5pm, and O've been walking about all day! Trying to beat my sister in a monthly steps challenge - clearly I'm going to have to resort to jogging on the spot too (slightly easier as she is 70 miles away so can't see me 😂)4
