Best circular cucumber I've ever seen....5

Nice to come on & find lots of comments.
@QueenJess - Crikey, look at that! If anyone needs a circular cucumber, you're obviously the go-to person!!
@amber03 - So far , so good with the £1 body cream. It isn't as moisturising as my usual brand but that costs £15 more than the cheapo one I bought to test, & for a slightly smaller pot. I'm in town tomorrow & I think I will go & buy a couple more pots if it hasn't all sold out.
@Cheery_Daff - Thanks. I'm trying!
@marionmgcars - Yes, not a lot of sign of petrol prices decreasing, a couple of pence is about the limit here so far, I think. The News has really wound me up again today with the piece about just how much profit energy & oil companies are making from these sky-high prices. My issue with it is this: If they are passing on the higher wholesale costs to us, why are their profits rising so much? Why if we are bearing the extra cost are their profits not broadly the same as last year? Something here smells deeply of fish. I think it can only be profiteering, pure & simple. I object to having to the big increase in daily standing charges too.. I think energy provision needs to be given a radical overhaul. I think a fairer system which would also help the climate change agenda would be to offer every household & business a core amount of electricity & gas units at a significantly lower price. Then, once they have been used up, prices would revert to a higher price. I think this would encourage people to use energy more wisely. Anyway, I hope you did find some not too over-priced petrol & that the world becomes a saner place before I shuffle off this mortal coil!!

Afternoon Campers!
A busy day but I'm slowing down now (actually I've ground to a halt!) & only have the grocery shopping list to write for our trip to town tomorrow......that's if we go, as Mr F has texted me this afternoon to say he's not feeling too good & his symptoms sound distinctly coviddy to me. He is going to be doing a test practically the minute he walks through the door! I don't have any symptoms myself, but if he does have it, then he's picked it up from work & I would be likely to get it later. He's actually taken some paracetamol which is quite a departure from his usual attitude to painkillers (which is to act as though I am offering him Class A drugs!)
Anyway.....
Household stuff: Cleaned the bathroom.
Kitchen witchery: Batch-cooked roasted tomato sauce & froze. Gigantes plakis in the slow cooker & a sourdough in the oven - that combo will feed us tonight.
Garden pickings: More tomatoes, basil.
Annoying jobs: 3 (2 of these not finished yet as involved washing curtains, which while pegged outside to dry for free, will still require ironing at some point & re-hanging)
Money stuff: Checked emergency fund/car fund account to check my payments are going in correctly & to find out latest interest rate. Oh, & I intend to look online to see if a small collection of Wedgewood pint mugs I have had for years are worth a few quid. I'm not fussed about selling for cash particularly, but was thinking I could maybe visit one of the regular local antique/vintage stalls & swap them for something I want more. Thus having a rough idea what they are worth would be useful info. They are a hangover from the Spendy Era when vintage/antique fairs were a massive problem for this naughty ex-spender. I still love vintage stuff but prefer stuff I can use. If I drank my coffee out of these mugs, I would literally have to move into the bathroom, such is the size of them!
Ah well, that's my day. Think I'll go & see if Soot is up for a good brushing.
Take care,
F x

Fingers crossed it’s not Covid. That cucumber is magnificent @QueenJess, the very definition of wonky veg 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Fingers crossed indeed that it's not covid 🙄 xx2

Fingers crossed for Mr F that it's not covid! I went to the supermarket whose name begins with A this morning and petrol was 6p a litre cheaper than it was at the beginning of the week.3
-
Hope Mr. F doesn't have the dreaded covid best wishes for a clear test. Petrol is 170.9 nearby and ten miles further 186.9 it is just crazy x3
-
Thanks all - He had a negative test, I'm pleased to say. If he still has symptoms this weekend, he's going to double-check by testing again.
