Hello Sunday Savers,
Only a low spend at the big yellow & blue Emporium, I'm pleased to say. Mr F's first choice of shelving for his half of the shed turned out to be the cheapest option & cost a quarter of what I'd expected.
Busy morning today. Baked bread, did a couple of hours of rather energetic garden clearing & finished writing Christmas cards.
Mr F v keen to roast a chicken today so that's me into sofa mode now. Have planned what I'd like to get done tomorrow - updating the Presents Pot & general November budget needs to be a priority, as does wrapping gifts for family members we will see in early December, then not again until New Year. I also need to advance birthday present knitting & a couple of other festive tasks.
It does seem a bit colder here today. The thermostat is only set at 18 in the daytime & the heating is rarely triggered but the radiators have just come on. Received monthly energy statement from the tentacled provider today - am sure we are paying too much. Will monitor it for now but will be taking action if useage/payments don't even up.
Enjoy your Sunday evening, m'dears,
F x

Afternoon, I have crossed a few more off my list and added quite a few more for next week. Made my pie its a good thing patchwork always looks attractive!! it tasted great and another couple of portions for in the week. I also made a mincemeat cake as I had the oven on, remembered my mom making it so found recipe in an old book (easy to adapt to gf) that too was a success although I doubt it will last long. Its definitely colder today (east coast) we have even had hail stones our heating has been triggered as well. This morning we tackled a big frog, the garage, since the move it had become a dumping ground made quite a bit of headway at least there is now room to store/dry logs ready for fire. Well back to the crocheting only another two rounds and its finished, hopefully if everyone is germ free off to stay will family next weekend so can deliver it.
Have a lovely cosy evening x7 -
That has been a useful day @Four_Seasons. Yes, it is definitely colder today. We were on holiday on the East Coast just the other week & the weather was lovely, very mild with some fab sunsets.
Always good to get the '🐸' tasks out of the way. Piecing together my lovely blanket squares is going to become a frog if I don't stop wibbling around over how I'm going to do it & just make a start on it.
Ah well, a new week beckons & I feel very nearly back to my usual organised self.

Morning Campers,
A useful old-style frugal day yesterday -pegged out 2 loads of laundry to get it a bit dryer before heated airer, divvied up leftover roast chicken - enough for a stir-fry, stew, some chunked up & frozen & everything else bunged in slow cooker for stock. Also did budget updates, particularly concentrating on the Presents Pot. Did necessary funds transfers & paid all presents purchases off my 'just for points' credit card. I will defo be on for some more loyalty vouchers when they next pay out. Budget tasks took longer than expected though as recent Windows 11 installation had affected my Excel spreadsheets. Sorted now though, thanks to a suggestion from the resident tech support bod.
Today's main goal is to make some serious inroads into wrapping presents, prioritising those for our early Dec meet-up.
Oh, I can see Mr F is having to scrape the car windscreen again before setting off on his drive north to work, so it's obviously another cold one here. Right, I'll finish my coffee, do mouse checks, then it has got to be wrapping until lunchtime.
Have a good day all,
F x

morning foxgloves
i have been old style frugal over the past couple of days tooI have got lots of washing almost dry on the line (no heated airer here boohoo), bulk made soup for the freezer and, as you say "shopped from home" - took an unused lamp from the lounge up to DD2's bedroom so she has a bedside light. It isn't too cold here today in the NW so windscreens don't need scraping - glad to be WfH today though

A big 'yay' to shopping from home @Deni_debt-free_dreamer. I'm cracking on well with my Christmas wrapping today, as planned & finding quite a lot of good condition bags & bows to re-use.

I need a lie down after reading all that 😊 I'm trying to up my productivity levels slowly this week, lounging around covered in a mound of pom-poms is not doing me a lot of good 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1205

Hi @Onebrokelady, lol at you being armpit-deep in pompoms! I think re my productivity levels, I just wanted to get back to normal after all the workmen & our holiday. I'm catching up now.

I missed joining in the super productive week - but I'd probably have been in the productivity relegation zone 🤣. I have got ahead with buying Christmas presents though but no wrapping undertaken yet! I used up all my Christmas cards last year so I will go to a local charity shop to buy theirs and drop off 2 bags of donations at the same time.
I think onebrokelady might have a great idea for winter well-being - lying around in a mass of Pom poms sounds rather nice!6 -
Lol, @Blackcats - no need for you to enter the relegation zone if you are ahead with buying presents & thinking about cards.
