Evening foxgloves, did a few more off the list and tackled a frog - sewing knitted diamond pieces together for a smallish blanket, I made one years ago, when I moved it came to light again and in a moment of madness I decided to make another one and give them to both my grand daughters. I enjoy the knitting and choosing the colours but would happily miss the sewing together glad to say its done and I am on to the crochet border. Tomorrow its meal planning, writing christmas cards, walking my furry friend and Thursdays frog is the shelf in the spare wardrobe!!
Scandimore hope your little one is feeling much better now and you manage to get a good nights sleep.6 -
@scandimore - Yes, do join in. I am feeling in a much better headspace now I'm able to see some progress. Hope your littlie feels better soon & you get some much needed sleep.
@Four_Seasons Another useful day there. Yes, I also need to do some piecing together as I still have all my Lockdown bedspread squares to sew up. Hmmm. I think that job had better be shunted up the list.

Hello Campers,
Just been watching the sun sinking into the most glorious sunset. I picked up my phone to photograph it, then thought it would be nice simply to enjoy it without gadgetry.... & it was!
OK, well another useful day in my planned week of productivity:
*Took delivery of 6 Christmas presents. Haven't unpacked them all yet.
*Baked bread.
*Wrote a list of everything I could usefully do in town tomorrow.
*Made a door curtain for the linen cupboard on the landing, pressed & hung it.
*Covered the seat of an old 1930s chair with a piece of the leftover fabric.
*Beeswaxed the chair frame & fitted newly covered seat back in.
*Sorted & rinsed saved squash seeds - now drying on a tea towel.
*Squidged down the garden to feed a bag of scraps to the worm composter & to water salad & sweetpeas seedlings.
*Knitted a bit more birthday present socks. Nearly up to heel flap.
*Tweaked tonight's planned meal to substitute squash roasted with rosemary & garlic instead of salad. Squash plants did well for us this year & we have the remains of a very big one which needs using up.
Just need to run vacuum over conservatory which is knee-deep in sewing detritus, then apart from cooking dinner, I am at the end of today's jobs.
I won't lie, I'm feeling better for getting back to my more usual organised self.
Be safe m'dears,

Evening Foxgloves and Scandimore, I must confess I haven't ticked anything off my list today, instead I went to the wool shop!! I think I have a serious addiction to yarn, I only went for a different colour yarn for the border of my blanket and came out with 13 x 100g balls!! There were so many beautiful bright colours that in the space of a few minutes I had chosen enough to make myself a bright, warm, cuddly throw, I just don't think there is any hope for me!! anyway tomorrow is another day and I will endeavour to meal plan, write christmas cards and sort dreaded wardrobe shelf.
Take care both x

Oh dear, @Four_Seasons, you are another naughty yarn shop person! I have very much been that person. The only reason I am not being tempted at the moment is because I still have quite a few projects to do & because I had to make a pact with myself that once my yarn stash (which lives in a tall chest of drawers in my little HQ room) was too big for me to close the drawers properly, then I couldn't buy any more. So I need to knit up plenty of my stash. I think I will free up a bit of space with the yarn I'll need to use to sew up my bedspread as it's a full-sized double one. You'll enjoy knitting your throw though. I knit all year round, but it's a nice hobby for by the fire during winter.

Evening Friday Frugalistas,
By going into town time this morning, my shopping list was really long. It's been really useful though. Always worth trying to do things on one trip rather than having to pay for parking multiple times. I carried on with this week's productivity theme & feel pretty happy with today:
*All Christmas presents now purchased or on order, except for one small thing for middle nephew & a couple of bottles of local beer.
*Bought remaining Christmas cards & stamps so can get card-writing finished next week.
*Bought my 2022 diary. Several dates gathering which need writing in. I always say how being really organised always saves us money. Chose a page-a-day one again as I can fit in plenty of notes & planning.
*Withdrew nephews' Christmas money.
*Unpacked today's deliveries & salvaged re-useable packaging (I never buy boxes, bags or bubble wrap, etc, for posting stuff)
*Sorted all till receipts & invoices into a pile ready to deal with during my Monday morning budget updates.
*Cleaned whole house (Mr F's day off so we split it between us - He opted for vacuuming, compost bin & bathroom, which was ok with me as I did putting all the fresh market veg away, bin emptying & kitchen-cleaning) & changed household linens.
*Looked up remaining garden waste bin collection dates on council website as they weren't in my diary. Want to make maximum use of this service as we pay for it & there are plenty of naughty weeds in the garden I don't want in our compost.
*Topped up bird feeders. Am eeking out bird food supplies with the bag of oats which got nibbled by a mouse.
*Grilled Mr F as to what shelving he needs from the Swedish Emporium & reminded him to check our household supplies of lightbulbs, batteries, etc.
*Booked our Covid booster jabs for next month.
Not my cooking night, so I intend to read tonight, watch 'Extra Slice' & generally do b*gger all.
Love to all,
F x
P.S I am never one to believe the 'snow chaos!' headlines beloved by the tabloids, but there does seem to be a drop in temperatures forecast....& get this....EVEN MR F has put his snow shovel & scraper in the car boot. Normally there has to be quite a bit of actual snow to trigger this level of winter weather preparedness. He'll be wearing a coat next!

You’ve definitely been more productive than I have. I’m afraid being back at work after a week off and the unexpected arrival of a kitten have monopolised my time this week. The intention was there though 😆
The snow has been predicted for a while, hopefully it won’t materialise.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Evening Foxgloves, another productive day ticked a few tasks off my list (not the ones I had planned) so quite pleased.
I made gluten free mince pies again today, second batch, these were reasonably successful, on looks they wouldn't win prizes but they sure tasted nice! Gluten free pastry is a bit of a challenge, Sunday I am attempting a mince beef/onion pie so if you could cross your fingers for me it would be good!
Weekend will be hopefully crossing more off my list and meal planning for the next few weeks if possible.
Have a lovely weekend and stay safe x2 -
Well done on the baking, @Four_Seasons. I've never needed to make gluten-free pastry, but have heard it can be tricky to handle. Good luck with the pies!

Morning Campers,
Not so much time for enhanced productivity today, as we are heading over to the other side of the county at some point, both to assess shelving at the large yellow & blue emporium. Then a visit to our best friends as we will be in their neck of the woods. So for today:
*Write more Christmas cards & make a list of people for whom I'll pop a letter in.
*Round up a big pile of magazines to take to my friend - a welcome bit of decluttering, & it's nice to give things a 2nd life.
*Shopped from home for gifts to take to our friends - a bottle & one of the glass containers I planted with hyacinths. They are sprouting up through the moss now so should flower for New Year.
But for now, I think hair washing & a good straighten are required..... nobody wants to find a wild witchy-woo on their doorstep, even if it does come bearing gifts.
Have a good weekend all,
F x
