Thanks both of you. I soooooo hope so. I've had confirmation of builder dates since I posted this morning so if the wretched January 🐸 can indeed be sorted today (even if extra chain sawing necessitates a return visit tomorrow morning), I will think things have actually moved on today at last.

I hope you get the longstanding problem sorted for once and for all. I’ve got a similar problem with my kitchen tap, I’ve had it repaired then replaced and it’s still leaking. Got a third person coming out when they can fit me in, he’s the plumber who originally fitted the sink so I’m hoping he can get to the bottom of it. Here’s hoping🤞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

It's infuriating, isn't it, @Sun_Addict? Workman who came today is 99.9% sure his fix (which looks very good) will solve the problem. Mr F & I feeling quietly confident that the endlessly 'regurgitating 🐸' is now swallowed & we are treating ourselves to a pizza tonight to celebrate, & maybe a film - Hey, another couple of months or so & we'll be getting 'Love Actually' out again, lol!

Morning Campers! You know I almost wish I WAS camping. I've just pegged out the whirlygig with laundry & it is such a warm, still day - just the squirrel doing his usual breakfast raid on the peanuts & blackbirds enjoying the bountiful crop of scarlet berries on our whitebeam tree. I am feeling an intense sense of calm this morning - surprising, really as we are spending the weekend in a virtually furniture-free lounge, with our other rooms piled with out-of-place stuff, in readiness for the decorator's return bright & early on Monday. Then barely a breather before the builders, then decorator again......a busy time as we have a final big push on the remaining work for this year on our house.
Mr F has popped into town as he needed to be sure of a tank of petrol for getting to work next week. He got a tank fill-up with no problems - more than I can say for B-in-L who is at this moment driving a long way north to deliver my nephew in readiness for his first day at university on Monday, & doesn't have sufficient fuel for the return journey, as there was no petrol available to buy in their area of London. I'd intended to go into town today, but as we needed so little - just a 'Good Luck' card for nephew, a brisket from the market butcher & some bread rolls, Mr F said he'd swing by that way after the petrol station, which has freed me up to do a few jobs. Just done a £2.50 survey which I think should put me v close to the £100 earnings mark, which was my target for some extra December Personal Spends.
Fancying a coffee now, then I will finish making current charity stall items which only need stuffing & sewing up, then I think we will be moving the rest of our lounge furniture out & covering up my much treasured piano to save it from all the wallpaper stripping dust & paint. I think next week will be a bit weird, as I can't access any of the places I'd usually sit, so will probably be spending a lot of time in the garden & upstairs! Ah well, as soon as the work is done, we can start to get back to normal, & tbh, I do have lots of stuff I can usefully do sitting at my desk, including budget stuff & some financial projections for the rest of the Home Improvements budget.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Would it be possible to set up a temporary lounge somewhere else in the house so you have a place to retreat to and relax?Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Morning foxgloves
It is a bit grey here in the NW, please send us your weather and bountiful petrol stations! I drove back from my hol in the NE yesterday and don't have enough petrol to get me to work for the 2 days i need to be in the office, hoping if i wait till Monday that i'll be ok.....
My DD2 seems to have taken the drier to uni (it was bought for her tbf) so pending being able to buy a heated version i think i may be able to follow your example and shop from home and dig out an older smaller one from my garage. I will look later when i read my meters

No petrol in sunny Bromley either..No signs of the petrol stations prioritising essential users such as my daughter in law who has to take my disabled grandson to school.4
