Oh dear, I don't know about saucepans & goblins, by the time I'd had a couple of glasses of that cava, I'd added sea shanties into the mix! A nice evening anyway & that's all we can ask for with things as they are at the moment, not being able to go out, etc.
A good start to the week with some fresh air & exercise. I am doing a fitbit steps challenge with Mr F Mon-Fri this week. I'd just got the bread dough mixed up & proving, got started on the laundry when I realised I hadn't got a lemon for a new recipe I'm trying out tonight. I was just about to text Mr F to ask if he could pop into Asd* on his lunch break to buy one, when I had a swift word with myself.......We're on a step challenge...what am I DOING adding to his steps by asking him to go to Asd*??!! I need to be a lot more canny than that. Instead, I put my coat on & walked to the local farm shop, making sure I came back the long way. Good free exercise & around 6000 steps towards my weekly total.
It's also my mid-month budget check-in day, so I've been at my desk cracking on with that. No nasty surprises, but I have £79 more than I reckon I should have, so while this is almost certainly the result of some or other complicated swap involving payment for nephews' birthday presents, I shall keep an eye on things over the next week or so, just in case anything else rears its head to account for the surplus. I've paid both 'just for points' credit cards & transferred money from the relevant savings pot to pay for the dentist last week. I've also done a few surveys & made a note of two knitting books I had from the library which I think my sister would like for a birthday present later this year.
There is £94 left in February's grocery budget & only one more food shop from this month's budget, so I think I will meal plan carefully to keep the next shop down, then we can use the surplus to stock up the pantry or to visit the village butcher to stock up the freezer. I'll decide nearer the time.
Well m'dears, the sun is shining & the ice has almost thawed on the pond. I must go & give my 2nd load of laundry an extra spin & get it onto the heated airer. Still feels too cold for pegging out, but it won't be long now. Think I'll crank the coffee machine up too & while it's brewing, I can march up & down the kitchen to add a few steps on. I think it very unlikely that I will win this challenge, but I am going to give him a run for his money, that's for sure.

Helloo foxgloves and gang. How are you all? We've had a busy few days so not been about, have been reading but not posting. Last Tuesday was payday so we done a Asd* click and collect. Freezers both full but still needed cupboard and fridge supp,it's. Umpteen cans of soup for J. He will eat my homemade mushroom soup and my leek and potato. Bit boring for him at times. Poor man. Weve been having a sort out and tidy up, trying to decide what to be able to take when we get our Narrowboat boat is hard work. Going from a 5 bedroom house to a 60ft boat!!! ... I was using the nutrition bullet the other day to liquidise johns soup.mi forgot about it and it exploded!!! Hot soup everywhere. All over me too!! Burnt my left wrist and palm of my right hand. I was lucky that it didn't blister up. I was in agony for a few hours with hands under cold water. Must remember NOT to put hot soup in the nutrition bulletin!! . Mrs Foxgloves was it you that put a recipe for flatbread on here??? . I can't remember where i seen it now.. ., On that note I'm off to bed. Goodnight all. Be good XMortgage free September 2021. Hope the goblins haven't interacted with the edamame beans in a saucepan. Seriously though the last time you needed edamame beans for something other than eating was when you hurt yourself. I hope that isn't the case.6
