Glad you are feeling better. I am glad now that I rejected a substituted item on my online delivery this week. I ordered frozen broad beans & as they were out of stock they sent me edamame beans instead. I suppose they do look similar, but although I eat a variety of beans I have never tried edamame. Perhaps I had a lucky escape!4

Glad you’re feeling better Foxgloves. I can’t eat edamame beans either - they give me bad tummy pains even though I make sure to cook them properly. Other beans are fine though. Very peculiar.'In the widening gap between credits and debits hangs a question: What parts of this life are you willing to give up, so you can keep on living?'

It IS peculiar, Whatlife is, because when I've had them in a ready made salad I've been perfectly fine, also with the bag I had from a different brand. These ones, however, have caused some serious gut irritation. I felt a bit better last night & thought I was on the mend, but no such luck. Had to leave half my cheese on toast this morning because I didn't fancy eating much, & am spending this afternoon under a blanket, reading, with a hot water bottle on my crampy tummy.
Rubbish!! I do hope it rights itself soon.

Well, my little frugal lovelies,
No money spending for me today! Mr F's day off so he popped into town for our fruit & veg & despite that being what passes for a day out these days, I was just feeling too yucky to go. So no sneaky little magazine top-ups today, but I'm hoping to feel up to a quick visit to our village farm shop tomorrow. We want to buy a pork roasting joint & another big sack of spuds. As if that were not enough to blow me away with Lockdown excitement, there is a small indie garden centre attached. I badly need new gardening gloves for all this dry bright gardening weather which is supposed to be on its way next week. I think I will also splurge some of my February personal spends on a few primulas to cheer myself up.
So I've done very little today.... have changed the bed linen, cleaned the bathroom & that's been my lot. Mr F is cooking dinner & I will only be having a small portion. At least this wretched gastric problem should hopefully pay off next Weigh-day, though that isn't until Feb 28th..... 'many a slip between cup & lip', as they say.
Ah well, I am going to read - current book is Ian McEwan's 'Machines like me', which is something a little bit different.
Sorry still to be moaning. I am not one for sitting around in the day, but just don't have enough 'get up & go' (well, except to the damned bathroom!!!!) to do much else at the moment. Hopefully it won't last too much longer.

Hi Foxgloves, be kind to yourself for a few days. Hope you are feeling a little stronger today xx6

Hello Diary Friends,
Thanks for your kind wishes. I do feel better than yesterday but am not sure if this is because things are finally calming down internally, or because Mr F popped out early to buy me some 'Buscop*n'. It has reduced all that painful cramping & spasms by quite a lot, so although I didn't feel up to going out to the farm shop as planned, I have done a few jobs. I've tidied the bedroom, had a leisurely bath & hair wash, washed the breakfast pots, taken kitchen rubbish out to the bins & got some bread dough mixed up. now proving sulkily under its little foil hat. This is very little in terms of usual 'Foxgloves' level of productivity, but this colitis-type attack has really taken it out of me energy-wise, & in the absence of any other culprits, plus the fact that Mr F is fine, I remain convinced it was those damned soy beans!
I felt really low yesterday, just from feeling so rubbish physically, so I have been looking out for cheerful things today & have spotted quite a few:
* My chilli seedlings are up & looking good so far - 'Fuego' & 'Jalapeno' & my little electric propagator is still working, despite having this ongoing infuriating problem with severely leaky shed roof. It did feel good not to have to spend out on a new propagator.
*I planted a patio pot with mini iris bulbs last autumn- variety 'Frozen planet' & they are all suddenly flowering today. A sign that Spring is not too far away.
*Other nice flowers in the garden too....plenty of snowdrops, my Mum's big winter iris is flowering (mauve) & also 3 hellebores, including one I brought back from Mum & Dad's garden. My Mum was a fine plantswoman, very knowledgeable & it makes me happy to have many of her plants here in my own garden.
*I still might feel up to popping to the little local village garden centre tomorrow. I'll see. I know it would cheer me up, & I badly need gardening gloves.
*Mr F has started planning some ultra-geeky music project & informs me he can shop most of the tracks for it from home. Well, thank goodness for that!
*The weather forecast looks a bit better for parts of next week which means the issue of re-roofing our shed may finally be sorted & I will be able to get out in the garden to do a bit of work in my big borders & to sow a few more seeds. I would find this very cheery progress.
But I am being sensible today. I haven't got a huge amount of appetite, whereas I can normally be quite a shocking pig, so I am going to take this afternoon gently.
Love to all,
F x

Glad to hear you are feeling slightly better 😊 Busco is so good for stomach cramps, I have IBS and use it for that when I have a flare up
I'm very sad about my big purple Hellebore,we had a bad storm with very bad wind the other night and they were trashed, they now look dead 😢I have a white one that looked the same but that one has a new flower now, I'm not sure whether to leave them or dead head them 🤷♀️Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1205 -
I think you've got loads done considering you're under par. I always try to keep Buscopan in the house as I've suffered from ibs in the past and it's very unpleasant 😩. When I had appendicitis I thought I had ibs for the first two days, which shows how painful ibs can be! I'm glad you're feeling more on the mend now and hopefully you'll get a nice surprise when you step on the scales 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
