Hi
.Houses are bigger but a large percentage not insulated. We have our home on the market, but living in regional Western Australia (3 hour) north of Perth things are very slow.It is a holiday town and not much selling at present except lower end of the market.

Wanna buy my house. It is also North of Perth(scotland that is!) so you would feel right at home (ony 12 miles though so it might not be far enough). Did I mention that we have fabulous insulation?Smile though your bank is breaking:)0 -

yes. Many details carry hectares too though. I can't visualise a given quantity of hectares without squinting and perhaps a finger count as I can envisage acres though and there are many more like me who see things in acres.0 -
as far as I can see houses are selling quickly at the moment, we are looking in the essex area and everything I see and like is sold within a week, only ones in bad areas or have small gardens or overpriced are not selling.
You should be here in spain its much worse we dropped 100,000 euros off our property and so have many others, hardly anything selling and banks not lending much.
Lots of scandanavian buyers who spend up to 2 hrs looking round your house and then offer you half. spanish buyers who have no money, hardly any brits
looking, we were lucky and have sold.:j
Supply and demand I think uk prices will start to creep up.
the cost of living in the uk now is so cheap, cheaper than here.0 -
I heard it's now the best time to sell, especially if you have property lower than 130k. The buyers are now getting 0% stamp duty now. Also, I heard after the election, the interest rate might go up. So people are now buying. After the new year, stamp duty will be 1.5%, interest rate might go up. There will be less people willing to buy. Is these true?
Any views about what will happen in the near future (6 months) to property lower than 120k? I'm looking for a house, but I found seller are still not willing to let go.0 -

This time next year prices will be lower than they are now.

Is there any reason for this?
Ignore him.
If I were you I'd stick with my own judgement rather than the ramblings of someone who claims to see the future.
(If you do want to look nearlynew up I think you will find him on the seafront at Brighton..... dressed as a gypsy carrying round large crystal balls)0 -
If prices dont come down then many FTB in my area will struggle. We have a decent enough deposit and decent jobs but the prices around there are just too high.
There are also council houses selling for between £115,00 and £140,000 in areas i wouldn't live in. (although i could afford it)
Im not a snob by no means (i grew up on a council estate) but i find it remarkable people are asking for these prices in such areas.
If prices rise any further then i can forget about buying a house. (had to take a 10% pay cut recently also)
I think NI experienced one of the biggest booms in prices but as yet i cant see that big a fall here.
I guess we will sit tight for another year, save more towards a desposit, and see what happens the market0
