Instructions on the walls. Eat above a table, Bathe above the bath, I dread to think what might be stuck up above the loo and I think I shan't take this theme further.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Oh, I can.....especially when there are kids in the house: "Flush!"
  • I have a confession... I did have artificial grass in my last place. But in my defence, the garden was a total mess when we first got it and we tidied it up a lot. But while doing the garden I decided I just couldn't be bothered with the upkeep of a real lawn and there was really nowhere to store a full lawnmower (nor did the size of the lawn really warrant it). So there you go...

Lemonsquizeer, I kind of understand face grass when used in terraced houses patios without side or back access.
I am thinking of all the mess when you do it with real soil and grass and pass by the hole kitchen, living room etc.

AFF8879, we don't live in a flat but I don't like this kitchen, diner, living room in One trend. I know it makes everything look bigger, brighter and airy but I still prefer huge kitchen, diner and good size living room. Formal front room in addition is even better.
A bit old fashion but hey I cook quite a lot and don't like the smell everywhere in the house.

Some brilliant replies on here and most spot on, when I see artificial grass I ask myself why, just why.

I went to a neighbors house for an xmas party, they had recently had a new kitchen and wanted to show it off, I walked into a sky blue gloss kitchen with oak work tops and blue paint on the wall. My mind reverted back to 80s style bathrooms, anyone remember the avocado and terracotta? In a few years that will look terrible, especially in a character house.

I agree with everything I've read on this thread. I quite often play right move bingo, with which houses will have the statement signs (cook, eat, bathe etc), artificial grass, floral wallpaper and bifolds.

My pet hate currently is wood burners in tiny houses. I can understand large houses/farm houses etc but not your average 70s semi which I'm seeing more of. They aren't cheap to put in, and buying the wood is expensive. And where do they store it? (I do have a woodburner, but we have land and a woodland so don't have the cost, fortunately)

I'm noticing more and more grey houses. I like grey, but wouldn't paint my house in it, it just looks so bland. Quite often I've seen listings that I've thought were in black and white when no, just painted grey.

Island units, quite often plonked in the middle of an average sized kitchen diner, leaving no room for a dining table.

Artificial grass, I see that has been mentioned.

Finally, open plan apartments which have been converted into a 2 bed from a 1 bed. Usually the kitchen has been moved on one wall in the living room, freeing up what was the kitchen to be the second bedroom. Usually being sold by a developer for a good £100k than they picked it up for. Also usually painted grey

I think your garden looks lovely. Your home your choice.

I agree. That's the sort of situation where artificial grass works as an alternative to harder landscape materials.

The only thing that niggles with me a little is the blue water butt, which I would paint....err...grey! :rotfl:

May I add brick wallpaper to the list? It seems to be making an comeback..... or maybe it never really went away.

This house has it, along with the signs, the lurve hearts, the 3 rooms knocked into one 'flowing' space, the grey paint and the greengrocer's artificial grass in the [STRIKE]exercise[/STRIKE] courtyard.

The views are nice, but the down-sides are all too apparent, so I won't go there.

    Beautiful garden. I'd love that.
