Vehicle Control Services

Hi,

I have recieved a letter this morning from 'Vehicle Control Services', for a parking ticket, where the offence commited was on the 4th January 2018.

Thhis is the first correspondance I have recieved on this subject however the notice is stating that I have until the 22nd February to respond before they pursue me for parking charges.

Surely if Im only recieving theis letter today I should at least have a little notice to be able to pay it... The letter is dated 8th February.

Ive quickly spoken to friends this morning and got conflicting advice. One tells me to pay it as she was advised (elsewhere) to ignore and ended up with a CCJ. The other friend told me to ignore and consult on here.

I have not responded yet as I thought Id ask here first as you guys have been helpful in the past.

What would you advise with these guys?

Ignore?

Or call them and ask to be able to pay the £100. Is it a standard fixed penalyty from these of £100 or is it like the council charges and you can pay less if you pay sooner. I thiknk if Id have recieved a letter about it when it happened and had chance to pay smaller amount I would have just paid it to save the hassle.. Now its £100 and they have annoyed me a little Im seriously hoping to hget out of paying.

Any help or advice you can give would be great.

Thanks.

Your best bet is to read the Newbie Stickies at the top of the forum. Just hit your back button and you will see it at the top OR follow this link.

    Never phone a PPC!!

Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving.

You need to edit your post to remove details of who was driving

Everyone is politely asked to read up on this in the Newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread

Go there after editing your post and read up on the game you are now caught up in

There is a section there on company vehicles that you should pay attention to

Thanks..So Ive taken a quick look and seems Ive a hell of lot of reading to do!
The first thikng I have noticed however is I should have responded sooner however its only today I recieved the letter. Should I still post the template letter for IPC registered parking firm.? The offence was commited on 4th January and its now the 26th.. Would you send still anyway? I really dont want debt collectors at my door and also Ive a mortgage renewal coming up at end of year and dont want a silly paking fine to end up costing me a fortune due to CCJ..

Thbnks for responding and pointing me in right direction. Im not lazy and wil do my own research, its just these are the first things that are popping into my head when Ive started reading in to it.

    Thanks.

15 minutes skimming the faq is not enough to understand all this

You haven't spotted the futility in even appealing an IPC company

You can still send the template and keep a copy to show a judge if necessary you didn't simply ignore them

The Newbies FAQ thread does cover why you don't bother with any appeals to IPC companies

Ignore everything except a lbcca or Court correspondence

If you get any then come back for advice on how to defend this at that time

So its pointless even attempting to appeal / respond to these guys and to just wait and see if they take me to court.

I see on the BMPA site its showing VCS are increasing the court cases year on year.. So I would expect them to take me to court?

If I were to email BMPA would they be able to tell me what their success rate is?

Ive set my day up to do some seriouys research.

    Thanks again for your help

First, send the template from the NEWBIES thread. That's your immediate priority. Then you start doing your research.

I see a comment from Quentin about company vehicles, but can't see that in your posts. Hire/lease vehicles require a different process to appeal.

Have you complained to the landowner yet?

    Send the template appeal.

Expect it to be turned down.

    Ignore all debt collector's letters.

Do not ignore any Letter of Claim or official court papers.

That's all there is to it... really.

Enjoy the rest of your day. :D

Debt collectors can't and won't come to anyone's door. They have absolutely no powers other than sending out poor quality bog paper.
You can't get a CCJ unless you have been to court, lost, been ordered to pay, failed to pay, then had a judgement order against you. Has any of that happened yet?

I believe daytime TV for these myths.
