TA - I have an ironing pile as well. I'm always nattering on about keeping it down, but I swear it multiplies in the basket.
Camelot, glad you sorted out the family issues, they are a source of much heartache.

Happy Birthday Gers, I'm a Piscean too, it was mine on Saturday. We've had two meals out, I've had some lovely presents, and am now well and truly 70!! I didn't want any fuss, and the meals out were last minute arrangements, people kept telling me "You've got to do SOMETHING!!" Anyway I did and it was all very nice.

I'll have to do something round the house today, nothing has been done for two days. Then there's that blessed ironing, hey ho.

Good morning everyone,

I hope you all had a nice weekend.

I spent most of Saturday working and yesterday was spent cleaning and then I had dinner with my gran which, as always, was a dream.

Been to the gym this morning. Cardio week, so I ran 4 miles and cycled 10k. I'll do the same tomorrow but aim for a better time. Tonight I've got 2 x games of football too. All this, and I'm going to fast tonight too, so nothing to eat between lunch today and lunch tomorrow.

Still not heard anything on the new job. I expect to hear at some point this week.

RR - Normally, I too would be excited for snow. But for the first time in my life, I'll be glad to wait 10 months to see it next.
Gers - Happy birthday!!!
Scarlet - A belated happy birthday too.

Hope to hear from Holly soon.

No radical weather here yet looks like the beast from the east will be hitting us less hard than the other side of the country.

Working today but will squeeze in making some brownies to take to mums tomorrow, hopefully the weather wont stop me getting her out shopping but I have got a couple of extra meals for her to stock the freezer. She refuses to consider the possibility that the weather may stop play and only buys the bare minimum every week, she would very soon run out if the snow does hit

Managed to finally finish the ironing yesterday but the iron no longer steams so that is heading for the bin but I wont replace it until there is another pile which could be a year or so . The linen jacket was so crumpled that I chucked it in the charity pile so someone else can get the joy of ironing it every 5 mins.

A last minute Asda trip last yesterday yielded 2 crusty loaves for 10p each and a whole mackeral for 20p so I need to have a think about the best way to cook it for dinner tonight

Home, cold, and snowed on and Prodigal didn't turn up. Ever felt like a fool? I'm furious. I sat in that waiting room nearly an hour waiting for him.

Morning ((((((((((Hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Happy birthday to those who have or have had birthdays.

We have a very slight fall of snow, I hope it does not get any worse, my new breadmaker is coming today and they are also collecting the old settee, its going to be a bit crowded in the sitting room if they do not get here, the new settee is due tomorrow.

I have been out and read the meters, its a bit brrrr out but not as bad as it has been the wind seems to have dropped a bit.

Not doing much today, I had a bad night was reading at 3am, but have to keep awake for the deliveries, so might go to bed early tonight. If we loose heat due to power cuts I am going to get the 13tog duvet out of the cupboard and put it on the bed with the quilt over the top. I need to get the little gas stove out and check it works ok.

Cold gammon, jacket spuds and maybe beans for supper tonight. I plan to make a crumble to use up some of the fruit that is still in the freezer.

Morning everyone,

Many happy returns of the day to Gers, my fellow Piscean and to Scarlet Ribbons belated wishes.
I am just sitting up in my bed having opened my cards and presents, yes it’s my birthday today as well! Have received some lovely gifts, especially like my Almanac for 2018 which my DOH got me, loads of planting & cooking tips plus details of moon phases etc, good stuff.
We are off out to brunch in a while, maybe a film this afternoon but don’t want to leave little dog alone for most of the day.
