Just to clarify, the letter you received from CCBC on behalf of Civil Enforcement Ltd (they may have changed the procedure) but it remains essentially the same. It is a letter from Civil Enforcement Ltd (a private debt collectors) trying to extort money from you. It is NOT a legally binding document from a real court and it cannot be legally enforced. This should not be confused with letters from an actual court (County/Magistrates), that is entirely different. This IS legally enforceable and would be actioned by a County Court Baliff who would have legal authority, but this isn't the case here.

This advice is WRONG and dangerous.

If you ignore a Court Claim via CCBC on behalf of CEL (a Private Parking Company, they are not debt collectors!) you WILL get a default judgment against you for the full amount claimed by CEL (or any other PPC for that matter).

If you fail to pay the judgment within a month, you then have a CCJ against your name that will trash your credit rating for 6 years. Then try getting a mortgage, a loan or even a mobile phone contract. In some occupations, a CCJ can affect your job, or applications for other jobs.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The poster 'ant555' appears to be one of the Sovereign Citizen / Freeman On The Land (FMOTL) brigade, who peddle their completely misguided view of how the law works to the uninformed and unsuspecting.

An example of how badly things can go wrong when following their advice, can be seen here: https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?466159-Bailiffs-evict-teacher-from-her-quaint-cottage....another-one-with-links-to-FMoTL.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

I'm going to give @ant555 the benefit of the doubt and simply put that he/she is misinformed.

If you read this link, you will see that CCBC is listed as a real court under the heading
Home / Find a court or tribunal / A-Z list of all courts

    https://courttribunalfinder.service.gov.uk/courts/county-court-business-centre-ccbc

So it seems clear what the CCBC is.

Why do these nutters think that the law does not apply to them?

The good news about that crazy rant is that the lack of paragraphs makes it so difficult to read most newbies won't bother.

That's what I asked myself when I was stalked by someone who contacted my employer. He knows who he is and so do the Police...

It's all about ''going too far'' isn't it.
