I am uninstalling it now, doing re-start.

PS, McAfee has now gone from machine. Will monitor for the next few days, especially to note if the firewall notification appears. I do have malwarebytes on so that might be doing something. No doubt they will remind me that it's a 30 day free trial.

PPS, unsure if it's my imagination, but pages appear to be more responsive to mouse clicking/loading.

If you're up-to-date with Windows 10 and have Build 1709 installed, Windows Defender now has a wealth of protections which make 3rd party products unnecessary for 99% of peeps.

Take a 10 minutes to ensure all the options you need are enabled.

Hi Firefox 1956, glad you asked that, but first, you may have read I've removed McAfee today as seemingly it wasn't necessary to have it due to the fact there was other stuff on the laptop that did the same job. Currently that "stuff" Defender, is scanning. Once it has finished, I was going to ask the question, do I need to have Malwarebytes ?.

AS for paying, on the link I used, it said something like, try it free for 30 days I'm sure, and that it would cost £49.99 per yr. Maybe I discovered the wrong link ?.

If there is a reliable/trustworthy option to use malwarebytes I'm happy to use it, but do I need it, with Defender on my laptop, w10?

The Premium version of Malwarebytes costs £50, but after the free trial you can carry on with the free version indefinitely.

As you can see the real time scans and various other functions stop after the trial, but you can still manually run it every now and again for anti-malware, anti-spyware and anti-rootkit protection.
Updates to it are free as well.

Full scan 1636655 files scanned, 0 threats found.

    So, do I need malwarebytes?.
