Is Kwik Fit Trying to Fleece me?

I've decided to take the car to a good, independent garage for another diagnostics test (this garage provides a report) and see what they come up with.
Which is really what you should have done in the first place. Kwikfit is the last place i'd take a car to diagnose a fault. Unless it was maybe a flat tyre, and even then they'd probably tell me i needed four tyres, discs, pads and a new exhaust. :eek:0 -

In my experience some Kwik Fit staff are OK and some branches are OK, not that I go there often. Some are reet dodgey though
So either yes they were trying to fleece you and didn't want to give you the diagnostics as proof they were lying
Or they were just being nice because they thought you were poor.
Either is equally likely AFAIKChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -

I agree. I've used our local Kwikfit and they're fine - no problems with them. The last time I used them they were quite helpful about some problems with our car - no suggestions about carrying out extra work or diagnostics at my cost, just helpful advice. Whether they were right or not I don't know, as the car was written off a couple of weeks later!0 -

surely air is already 78% nitrogen - i bet they would try and charge for a full tyres worth of nitrogen when they only need to replace the 22% that isn't nitrogen0 -
Oh yeah, Kwikfit did add Nitrogen to my tyres for £1 extra without asking.
I generally go to ETB for tyres, I've found them to be really good.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -

Go anywhere but KwikFit, KFC have got plenty of free staff to offer a hand this week.0
