Sat nav recommendations

A car charger isn't enough to charge it properly. It;s sufficient to keep it going but not much. I charge it on the mains if I'll need it for a long run. Check your instructions!!

It is an old thread, I've had two units since then, the first one, XGody, see the link further up lasted around 18 months and was replaced by another similar one,  for £35 - £40 that's not bad going.  While the first one lasted, it did what I wanted it to do which is why i replaced it with a similar one.  I couldn't have one on my phone as my screen on my Samsung wasn't big enough anyway.  Thanks a lot guys for your input though.

As our eyes get older we have been trying a bigger screen (7ins), but sadly the symbols - eg speed limit are still small. (NB I mean near vision is compromised, not far vision for safe driving) 
Does anyone make the Cummings version for people whose eyes aren't great?
