£25 to fix it, seriously isn't that a bargain? I would snap their hands off, after 3 years with no way to prove you didn't snap it, that's about as good as it gets.0

Exactly my thoughts.
there is no way of proving "light use" although may be an independant report would find in your favour, but maybe not and then you will be even more out of pocket.
PS did you get the PC fixed0 -
A cheap 9ct gold ring is not going to spontaneously break. Gold is soft, but not that soft. Unless the gold is so thin (as in 1mm) then it probably got caught on something and was damaged.
£25 is a bargain for a repair. Take it.0 -

Unless you're accusing me of lying, the ring did just snap as she tried to take it off, that's why I want it replaced/repaired for free. It's principle, not cost that's the problemExactly my thoughts.

The reason why I wrote that thread is quite a long story and will put this thread waayyyy OT.
Anyhow I gather the general forum opinion doesn't agree with mine so maybe I'll just have to suck it up. Well see what happens. Thanks For your thoughts everyone.0 -

The ring had to have been damaged before she took it off. A solid ring just doesn't snap without significant force. It just doesn't.0 -

That I paid nearly £300 for, possibly.
Going to take to a jewellers, might just be easier to cash it in for whatever value it's worth and put that towards something from a really jeweller0
