You might not, but thats all Giffgaff is, a PAYG service that you can recur a top up to buy an add on, just like PAYG add-ons offered by the other networks.
No, youre still signing up to a contract, just a 30 day one. They could still increase the prices, but as its a 30 day contract you can leave at any time with 30 days notice.
I'm going to have a look at the PAYG options then. It works perfectly well for me.
EDIT: Or not. PAYG deals aren't great.

Ha, you edited it while I was just checking prices.
If you're looking at PN's current £8 deal @ 3GB data, 1000 minutes, Unlimited texts as suitable then I think PAYG will disappoint you. They're really easy to deal with if you need to up/downgrade as well if a better looking PN tariff comes up.0 -
And GiffGaff have just sent me a text saying my £10 'goodybag' will include unlimited minutes from tomorrow. So it's just improved again!0
