Last year my virgin £6/month deal went up by 18p.

They really should say the deal is '£8 per month until July'

    Hmm. This article:
    https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/phones/2018/02/-pay-monthly-mobile-customers-with-three-face-mid-contract-price-rises

says "Virgin Media and Giffgaff have told us they are not currently planning to raise prices."

    Is that not true?

Need to read the plusnet small print. Search for rpi r.p.i

With virgin whatsapp and Facebook ? Data useage doesn't count on your allowance

The same Money Saver article says that "Plusnet has said RPI price rises do not apply to its deals, as it offers 30 day rolling contracts." and I'm currently with GiffGaff and there have been no price increases at all in the last two years I've been with them.

I think virgin must compress voice data a lot as my OH got a virgin sim recently and the first thing I noticed was how muddy and muffled the voice quality was compared with three.
  • I have been trying to get the above deal today which is the last date for applications but the Uswitch link only gets you as far as the credit card payment details and then locks up.
Whilst waiting for the process to clear I started reading reviews on Trustpilot and honestly I am so shocked and now regret going ahead with the application. Even more shocked that Martin Lewis recommended this deal. I am hoping the application hasn't been finalised and I am not now in a 12 month contract as seriously do not need the sort of hassle these people have suffered.

Everyone should be aware of the bad reviews - please read before jumping into this contract.

Thanks for this. Worth having a read and knowing. But I think there are awful reviews for most of these mobile phone companies. They certainly have equally bad reviews for PlusNet:

As above, most providers have poor scores.

I always take sites like Trustpilot with a pinch of salt. It's human nature to complain when things go wrong, but we are far less likely to praise when things 'work'!

I've only been with Plusnet for 2 months, but so far there have been no issues and my number was ported over when they said it would.
  • Ive never had a problem with Virgin mobile. When the price goes up just phone them up, they are very good to haggle with. We have 3 sim deals in our house all come with 2500 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited same network minutes and 2 gb data each for £6 each on a 12 month deal. This is fantastic value.
