Have EE cottoned on to MSE?

Our upgrades team will always try to get you the best possible plan and offer available. If you log into your MY EE account online it will show the best upgrade plans available to you. Thanks SamTeamjarjar wrote: »My husband has done loads of research on here and tonight called EE to negotiate his contract. Charged his phone, got a cup of tea, and got ready to negotiate.
He was on the phone for about 5 mins - they said they couldn’t do anything for him and gave him his PAC code, just like that. No attempt to negotiate, no offers other than what was on the website (which aren’t that great). He’s not after anything crazy, just a SIM-only for about 8GB.
Have they cottoned on to the MSE tactics to try to negotiate a better deal?“Official Company Representative
I'm an official company representative of EE. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -

MyEE has never shown the best upgrade deals, in fact it’s always shown worse deals than the normal upgrade team offered, let alone what retentions would offer.====0 -
i've usually found a better upgrade deal by talking to carphone warehouse rather than direct to EE.
OP may be worth a try.0 -
It does depend on who you talk to mainly. I have spoke to numerous cancellation/retention team members at various companies.
New customers still get a better deal so it pays to be a rate tart (Yorkshire accent)0 -
Why do your 'deals' always have a really high price then add a discount, why not just offer the lower price? Is it so you make higher profit when you raise the price on the yearly RPI Increase or is there another reason?Samantha_EE wrote: »Our upgrades team will always try to get you the best possible plan and offer available. The upgrade available to him on his account online was worse than what he currently had - less data for more money! And during the call they just said ‘we can’t match what you get get elsewhere, here’s your pac code’.2019 wins: Meal at Five Guys0 -

So you've got the PAC, now go and find a new supplier.0 -
There are only four major networks. EE has the most customers and probably doesn't believe you will actually leave. Why give you a cheap deal when they don't have to.0

Obviously we’ve done that. I was just making the point that the big firms are on to the MSE tactics and won’t necessarily negotiate.2019 wins: Meal at Five Guys0 -
Did he go to negotiate a deal or get a PAC ? Going for the latter is more likely to get a deal as you want to leave, asking for a deal means you want to stay.0
