I had an ocado delivery this morning which came to £48.05. Lots of sensible stuff in there but also a few not so necessary things. They gave me a voucher for £1 off a bottle of ale so I got one for 79p and they had 20 percent off pieminister pies so I got one each for hubby and me for an easy meal. Previously I would have bought lots of pies to go in the freezer but now my freezer is quite rightly too full of home made meals and my bank account has money in it. Yay for the grocery challenge!

In other good news Tesco finally got back to me about my complaint re: an order full of short dated food several weeks ago and they're going to refund me for all the short dated stuff. I'm not sure how much I'll get back yet but it's a win as I actually managed to use or freeze everything in the end although it was a bit inconvenient.

I'll need to be sensible now for the rest of the month as I only have about a quarter of the money left for half of the month.

    Good evening everyone

I’ve just started my new job, where there is absolutely no internet access, so apologies if I’m even more absent than usual. I can browse on my smart phone at lunchtime but I find it really difficult to post. I will try to browse more in the evenings.

We have finally found an Aldi within reasonable distance - although not on one of our regular routes - and DH popped in there last night, on the way home from visiting a friend. He spent £3.67 on chocolate and 2 litres of milk. (Did I mention that he’s a chocolate monster?). That brings our total Grocery Challenge spend to £40.13/£120, leaving £79.87 for the remainder of the month.

Let me know when you plan to purchase and I can give the current discount code for 10% off.

Spendy day for me today as I did the main weekly food shop, stopped at Mr t's first and picked up anything I knew was cheaper or that I couldn't get at Ald!'s. spent £16.96, then went onto Ald! were I spent a further £79.82.
It's going to be an interesting end to the month, got just under £100 left and I'll need a top up beginning of next week and then the main shop next thursday and a top up before the month ends.
