First update of the month and halfway through budget but pretty good with things I have bought so far :)

    - £3.89 Graze Box

    - £11.95 on Pets (a large plastic box to let the dwarf hamsters run around - can be cleaned and reused whereas the cardboard ones are getting a bit grubby! :T )

    - £97 on Meat Delivery (most of the order was on half price items so a good saving!)

    - £70.95 Sainsburys click and collect order (including a £12 off £60 spend voucher)

    - £2 Sainsburys - top up item that wasn't on order!

    - £30.34 Holland & Barratt - bought some nuts and aloe vera gel with £1.50 voucher - topped up to £30 to get £5 voucher next time round :)

    - £9.58 Tesco - Top up shop

    - £10 Tesco - other half buying his favourite beer on offer (whilst buying my Mother's Day presents! :D )

    - £48.15 Sainsburys click and collect order (including a £12 off £60 spend voucher)

    - £26.86 Tesco - Top up shop - mainly Belvita biscuits as they are half price and we all like them in this house! :j

So total stands at £310.72 with 3 main shops to go this month (I shop on Fridays) - should be doable I think, before I kept an eye on my spending, most weekly shops were over £100 so I am impressed with how I am doing and having Sainsburys vouchers has helped!

I have been sent a new set to use with £3 off £20 spend shops this time round and my partner got £9 of £60 spend so if I do an online shop and then pop in to get a £20 shop I can get the £12 off each time :T

  • Today, Tuesday, was a NSD. I couldn't be bothered to leave the house to do errands. I'll update my sig in a bit. I'm pleased with the way my spending has mellowed out a bit. At least me spending less in euros will leave room for the spending I'll do in the UK.

    Totals So Far:
    €133.42 / €400.00
    9/10 NSD
    £0/£150 UK stock up
  • Just 2 GC spends so far this month...£40.93 at A5da, £23.75 at Mr S = £64.68

Yesterday I went to the hairdressers (first time this year and it was much needed ;) ) and then into the PO a few doors down. While I'm thankful we still have a local PO, it's in the Co-op right at the back of the store so you have to walk past all the shelves, making the challenge of not spending that much harder. :(

Well, I came out having spent £17.58. :o And not everything was on my list. :o:o

Tbf, £10.36 of that was on a large joint of beef topside that I'll cook on Sunday. I can't remember the last time we had a joint of beef so we'll look forward to that. I'll make lots of gravy so I can slice and freeze several portions for "some other time". The ys section didn't have anything that I wanted so that was a win, but I did spy some jars of Kung Po sauce elsewhere that they were selling off for 50p each (down from £1.99 each) with a bbe date of Aug 2018. They'll not go to waste here and will be long gone before then so I bought two of those. :D

Still on course to stay within budget so all is well. :):)

Up to £239.57 so far in March. Pleased with some things this week, have been roughly following the £10 a week plan from the EatNotSpend pages (https://eatnotspend.wordpress.com/10-a-week-family-shopping-list/ tweaked for some favourites... with that shopping list I did seem to get a lot for about £68 in Sainsbobs on Sunday. Erm why was it more than £40 - probably because I also bought crisps, biscuits, fruit juice, chicken breast rather than thighs, and fruit which tends to be missing from the eat not spend plans.

Everyone liked the jambalaya and tonight we're trying the roast cauli and couscous, with added chicken bits for the carnivores. I usually buy branded couscous (Mexican type flavours) at about 60-80p for 2 people, so a 500g bag does seem like a bargain. But I am left wondering why I bought a pomegranate (£1.25) instead of a prepack of seeds for £1.30! Should have checked the recipe before I went!

For March please have me down for £125 again :)

I've recently been trying to squeeze as many veggies and fruit into my daily diet as possible as I just feel so much more alive and awake when I do! I've also moved from a pretty active job to one where I sit at a desk half the time so I don't want to tempt any extra weight. This week has been my main effort in doing so and so where I'd usually find a veg crisper full of veg I'm actually almost out for once! So I'm currently proud of myself on that end but GC me is not so keen on spending more money :p So I'm going to see how it goes this month with having a larger portion of my shop on veg and what that does to my spending, and then reevaluate.
