    The point being that the song was by Lionel Ritchie, not Adele, and that it was released before Adele was even born. Keep up!

    More accurately, the song was by Lionel Ritchie and not Stevie Wonder. And it was released in 1984 before Adele was even born.

    As you (OP) would have been 10 when it was released, and probably still watching Top of the Pops, you will have been aware of the song. ;)

    Goodness me @ the comments. In 1984 I was watching Top of the Pops. But it was things like Robert de Niro by Bananarama, Against all odds (take a look at me now) by Phil Collins and RELAX from Frankie goes to Hollywood. Just because a song is called hello, don't means it's by L Richie.
