Dishwasher Owners - Do You Use Separate Rinse Aid?

NEFF dishwasher - pots are always wet on top weather we use rinse aid or not.
never had this problem with AEG we had before0 -
Yes, we use separate tablets, rinse aid and salt. I'm not convinced all in 1 tablets work properly. For one thing the rinse aid needs to be applied later in the wash. Also when using separate salt all the water goes through it. I can't see how a one shot tablet can apply salt ant rinse aid at the right part of the cycle.0

Hard Water Area Hotpoint
Salt and Aldi tablets0 -
Hardwater area*, Indisit.
Salt and either Aldi's 5 in one tablets, or at the moment Fairy 5 in one tablets (or are they 9 in one?) as they were actually cheaper via amazon than the Aldi ones last time I needed them
There is often a little bit of moisture still on some items, but that I think is basically because the newer machines don't do the dry cycle for as long as the older ones/don't use the water quite as hot as part of the "saving energy" thing.
*Given the amount of tea/coffee we drink our kettles rarely last more than 18 months before dying, even when we descale the kettle regularly.0 -
Hoover d/washer
Lidl 3-in-1 tabs
Always use rinse aid and salt. Everything comes out clean and streak free and only the very quickest 37min cycle comes out a bit wet.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
No, we have very soft water. Bosch dishwasher, but the eco setting takes 3 & 1/2 hours! Pain.
The dishes are like new, though.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
Soft water, bosch dishwasher (also 3.5hr eco wash).
Use Aldi rinse aid and aldi tablets.
No idea if the rinse aid is needed but when I bought the dishwasher (1st I've had) I rushed out to buy two bottles of rinse aid and two boxes of tablets. Six months and many washes later I still have a bottle and a half of rinse aid left so it isn't costing very much. Dishes do come out clean and dry, plastics so-so.0 -
I always did & it made a difference on eco 90min wash. Also found powerball tabs the bees knees but need to wait for offers lol, theyre crazy expensive in comparison! But always used tesco basic rinse & salt.
try not topping up the rinse next time it runs out & see what happens, you might not need it depending on your machine/tabs/water0 -
Seems daft to use all in one tablets when the dishwasher has a water softening unit and a rinse aid dispenser, which dispense the right amount at precisely the right time in the wash cycle. A tablet can't possibly match that.
Lidl sell W5 tablets which are detergent only, so use with salt and rinse aid. Besides if you get the salt and rinse aid from Home bargains or Lidl it costs almost nothing.0 -
Rinse aid and dishwasher powder here. I heard that tablets may not dissolve properly and clog drains.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
