Thank you for all your feedback about the recent password changes. This was one of a number of measures we put in place. We’ve listened, spoken to our tech teams, and have decided not to impose a password reset time limit.

You’ve raised lots of questions as part of this process, and while we’re sure you appreciate that for security reasons we can’t comment on many of them, we can assure you there hasn’t been a hack.

You didn't say anything about the new captcha on trying to post.

Which doesn't work properly, by the way. Tick all the pictures of vehicles, or of bridges, and then go to a blank page.

Didn't highlight and copy the post before submitting, so either write it again, or just don't bother.

Could you clarify why we have had to change our password twice in a week?

It is wasn't for a "hack" was it due to a mistake by the MSE technical team?

Not everyone had to change their password twice.
I only had to change it once (message was something like 2900 days), since then I've not had a problem.
I wonder why some people had to change it twice.

Thanks for the change. Somebody mentioned captchas, not sure if that is only for new members, this is a test to see if I get them. The Google captchas don't work well if you regularly delete cookies from Google, I hate the things.
(and no captcha..)

I have not just had to change twice, but my new passwords were not recognised so I had to change them again. They were acknowledged by the site, I still can't get in, for some reason this let me in without signing in.

You haven’t commented on ANY of them. Let us know which ones you CAN comment on.

Teething problems, a mistake, software glitch ?

They haven't enforced password changes for 10+ years, so I wouldn't get over concerned.
