I've been quoted £35 by my car insurance company and was told by a friend this was over the top.......... what's the view??????
I looked at this issue recently also, as the 'Whiplash Reforms' will have a big impact on the cost of going to Court in a non-fault accident. It's a no-brainer for sure - for 10 bucks a year. This subject should be covered off by Martin Lewis and other motoring journos to help with general understanding. There is a clear cost saving when buying a stand-alone policy, and the cover is certainly needed.
I bought the Bestpricefs policy - its underwriter is 'very strong' - AA - Hannover SE, so it's not going to fail and LPG are very experienced. £9.99 a year is really good value.0 -
Mr Lewis won't cover this as the owners of this website would not be happy if people stopped buying the add-ons at moneysupermarket0

LOL how true, maybe Mr Lewis himself will realise if he is a money saving expert then he has a duty to inform his audience of money saving ideas!:)0

This is a point well made...lol
I get that Quentin Wilson will focus his comments on the products he gets paid for BUT Mr Lewis should help with all 'money saving ideas' - may be he'll actually start doing some productive money saving expert work that is product based and not in the interest of the owners of the site...?
Where are 'WHICH' with this and other simple ideas? Good talking point.... The issue with 'add on' products needs covering in detail, so the cost is pushed down for all consumers... please Mr Lewis, take a look at these type of cost saving - value for money insurance products.....0 -
Martin Lewis sold MSE some years agoIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Which are very good as long as you pay to join them.0

96% of claims that are currently pursued by solicitors on behalf of non-fault claimants (those who have been bumped into) will, from April of next year, go via the small claims court.
That will mean that it will no longer be financially viable for these claimants to instruct solicitors and they will have to pay the upfront costs of the court fees
Additionally, the compensation awards are being substantially reduced, effectively meaning that it is not worthwhile making a claim at all.
So, if you are injured through no fault of your own, may be self-employed and have to take time off work, or employed on zero hours contract, life will not be too pleasant.0 -
What does paying for legal cover buy you compared to no win no fee solicitors? In both cases they will only get involved if there is a high chance of winning.0
