Can anyone help/direct me to an insurance company or broker where I can buy a decent motor legal protection plan?
I've been quoted £35 by my car insurance company and was told by a friend this was over the top.......... what's the view??????

If you require breakdown cover Start rescue include legal protection in their annual premium.0

I take it this is where she purchased from?

OP, worth checking if you have any legal cover elsewhere. I'm in a trade union at work which gives free legal cover as part of being a member, and covers the same things as the legal cover you get with motor insurance - so I don't pay for it with my motor insurance. You might have legal cover on home insurance as well.0

I have a 2 year, 3 vehicle policy with MemLegal:

Which is about the same price as 1 years cover for 1 vehicle with a general insurer.
Whether you buy from a standalone insurer or via your motor policy, a claim will be farmed out to one of the big legal agencies in Cheshire/Manchester anyway. The man without a signature.0 -
Thanks for your input.
As I understand it there is a difference. I did ask my home insurance provider if I had 'motor' cover via the legal protection included in my policy. I was told it is not 'motor' cover- this I was told needs to be 'motor' legal protection policy to cover all of the risks related to motoring. £10 a year is a no brainier. Purchased it now! I will not buy the cover as an "add on" again.0 -
I did look at this cover. I bought the "bestpricefs" as I wanted the courtesy hire cover and prosecution defence, which was £9.99 and covers me when driving other cars. Clearly these offerings are much better value than buying as an "add on"0

Yes it is. I purchased the cover from the site also, plus the 14 day courtesy vehicle hire and £100,000 of motor prosecution defence- in case I get caught by one of those mobile camera units at 75 on the motor way!!
Seems great value in relation to the risks. I bought much greater cover for less than the cost of the more basic cover with my insurance company. This was straight forward- I don't know why I haven't understood this in years gone by.......
It took 5 mins. I went to the best price FS website
I went to the motor legal protection page.0
