Excel Parking

Interesting issue at Feethams. On the 8th Feb we used the same car park - currently disputing a parking charge notice. Our parking ticket only showed the last two digits of our registration number. Seems a rather familiar story. Did you manage to contact the managing agents?0

I sent an email to the management company, Savill's, but haven't had a response. Also emailed a guy at Bewonder who advised they won't be able to help as they don't get involved in Excel's processes unless they are in direct breach of their lease. I think I'm being fobbed off to be honest.0

You are in ignore mode now unless you get real court papers.
You should complain to your MP. Everyone who gets a scam parking ticket should do this.
These are some of the comments made by the MPs in Parliament concerning the unregulated parking industry (Feb 2018):

''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.
These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP in a complaint and ask him/her to contact Sir Greg Knight MP if he wants further information about this scam.I married my cousin. Just for info was the 'DO' the last two digits of your license plate no? Our car had been purchased that month so I know full well that the full plate number had been put in as it was the first time it'd been parked in a public parking space (w/out a parking app) and I typed the numbers in!0

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences.
Parking Eye, Smart and a smaller company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (who take hundreds of these cases to court, and nearly always lose), who have also been reported to the regulatory authority.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind most of these companies may well be put out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
No, but don't recall keying in anything at all, so I'm thinking the person that was before me accidentally caught the buttons when taking their ticket.0

We have just received a further letter from Excel headed "Notice of Intended Court Proceedings" and have been given another deadline of 10/04/18 to pay £100.
It also mentions that if Excel obtain a successful CCJ against us, it will be recorded on our credit file for 6 years.
Should I still ignore and ride it out?
Thanks0 -
Is this a lbcca?
(It is lying and looks to be a threatening type debt collection attempt - you only get a ccj remaining on the register if you ignore one for over a month)
If it is a lbcca then #2 in the Newbies FAQ thread advises on how to deal with it0 -
The IAS have now dismissed my appeal
Eh? Even though there is an instruction in their Chief Adjudicator's annual report on this issue. Do these assessors not read these Annual reports .... or did it never get to an assessor as long suspected? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I don't think so, as it's been sent from Excel.
I'll try and attach and image.
Thank You0
