Flights changed

Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place - sorry if not!
Booked a while back to go away to Florida over school holidays and received an email yesterday to say our flights have been changed - significantly so that we essential lose a full day.
I am within my rights to cancel the flights for a refund but my question is this;
I booked through an online website which (I think?) acts as the agent and books the hotel and flights direct. They are ATOL protected and ABTA.
If I cancel the flights, would I also be able to cancel the hotel as part of the whole package despite the fact the airline has no relationship to this?
Not pleased that I'm losing a day of my very short and very expensive holiday

For anyone to be able to give advise I think you need to elaborate.
Who have you booked with?
What is the flight routing, airline and the original and new timings?0 -

Sorry wasn't sure if I could name names!
I booked through Love Holidays for 7 nights flying with Norwegian LGW - MCO.
My original flights were:
Outbound 26/05 16:00-20:10
Inbound 02/06 22:10-11:25
These have now been changed to
Outbound 26/05 10:00-14:50
Inbound 02/06 16:10-05:25

The way Love Holidays works is that the hotel, flight, transfers will all have been booked as separate components. You will therefore be left still with the hotel, transfers even if you could cancel the flights.
I think Norweigan would possibly allow a cancellation given the 6 hours flight time difference (check their t&c!!!8217;s) - but you would I think be left with the other holiday elements.0 -

Have you actually been advised by the company you've booked with that you have the right to cancel for a full refund?0 -
It might be me but hasn't your outbound flight been brought forward by 6 hours and your inbound flight also brought forward by 6 hours?
Isn't that a net result of no change at all?

That's what I thought as well.0 -

On the return you would still need to check out your hotel at the original time (usually midday unless you paid for another night/late checkout) so the times for the return actually look preferable - I hate the hanging around part, bags in storage and waiting to go to the airport0 -
Yes, we have been advised if the change is more than an hour we can get a refund.
I appreciate some people may find that preferable but it works the other way around for us.. Arrival day tends to be getting settled and then as we were not due at the airport until so late we were leaving our bags and heading to a park for the day.
Oh well, these things happen I supposeDebt free by April 2018

Love holidays are the very worst of the bunch, and Im sorry they have stuck you with this. You do not expect to have changes like this forced upon you without compensation regardless of overall time lost or not.
Unfortunately companies like this protect themselves with so many small print clauses, and LH in particular have prohibitive cancellation or amendment fees amounting to complete loss of flights cost to their standard 75 pound cancellation, amendment or administration fee.
It doesn't work two ways unfortunately, and they are not interested if you become inconvenienced by them (ie the other way around).
You have been lucky, as many others have been ripped off far more dramatically by LH . Just search these forums.
Hope they don't hit you with anything further and that you have a successful and fun holiday0
