I like that way of looking at things! Certainly a fresh perspective on it

its a perspective I try to follow. A mate recommended a book called the secret Charles Poloquins ideology is very much stolen by the person who wrote that book0

I have actually debated getting that book a few times, but I've got quite a few others that I need to finish before I attempt to start anything new!
Going to have a big old declutter before the weekend is through, starting today and carrying on, on Saturday when I am home all day. I have too much stuff for my small room (again) so everything is starting to look very crowded and messy purely due to not having much space
Most things will get thrown out as they are just junk that no one else will make use of or I can't give to charity shops - my secret plan is too take it in my car to work and make use of the huge wheelie bins there for household waste (shhh :shhh:... with 4 people at home at fortnightly bin collections, our small black bin fills up very quickly!) sell anything that's worth more than about a fiver, and bag up loads of stuff for charity too.
I did get it to a point where I had no clutter, but it's all just built up again. I also need to start gradually working it down to just things that I need, for when I eventually move in with OH

Its okay the book but I find self help books can at time be abit tedious, a friend at work lent me some of Eckhart Tolle's books but I found them painful to get through.
Keep going with the declutting it does help. Do you not have car boots sales near you or a cash for clothes you can go to??0 -
Yeah I know what you mean about them getting a bit tedious - I have various audio books that I'm going to start listening to on my drive to OH's instead of music now and then. Mix it up a little.
We do have a car boot sale but it's hard to persuade myself to do one as I have no one to do it with, and I have to get up pre-6am every weekday so hard to want to do it at the weekend too :rotfl: I'll get there eventually
As for cash for clothes we did used to have one but I'm not convinced it's around anymore

Hi guys
Not much to report, popping on between waiting for some electricians to turn up, and being moaned at by people that the electricians haven't turned up yet
Taking my car to the garage to get the exhaust done on Friday morning I hate driving it with the noise it is making, and haven't really done so for the past few days. Will get a quote for the steering done for the bit of play in it too, probably for payday, so that everything is then done and dusted with the car and it feels safe to drive again
Going to have to look for some very cheap and cheerful fathers day gifts for OH too as I asked if the kids had brought presents to his (ex has gone on holiday until next week) and all they have brought with them is a card. It was always going to be tricky as I have met them as she has a new partner so not necessarily (in her mind) her job anymore but also I have only met them twice with OH so not exactly in the position to whisk them off to the shops to pick some items up. Will just have to get a few small bits, tell them quickly what they are, and get them to hand them over I guess! He says he does not mind but I don't believe him..
Booked a week off right at the start of July as OH only has 6 days left to book around being off for childcare so it's not like I need to book masses to go anywhere with him, also booked another five days for the first week my mum is visiting from Oz, so massively looking forward to next month
Hope everyone is all good!Just trying to make up for past mistakes and work towards the future I want :hello:0 -
Well done on the tesco cc overpayment!

Glad the car is getting sorted and well done on meeting your car service challenge by the way!
Glad your mum is coming over as well. Am hoping to organise a trip to see my dad soon. Seems weird but the older I get the more I miss him when I don't see him!Total Debt : ?? / ??0 -
Thank you thank you

Yes I'm very glad that they are coming over, was supposed to go in Feb but just couldn't afford it and was really gutted. It sucks only seeing her once a year at best but I'm very happy they've made an amazing life for themselves
my dad lives 120 miles away too which is obviously much closer but I only really see him a few times a year too.. I definitely miss him more the older I get so you're not alone in that

Going to be a tad spendy today as I need to purchase some jeans that fit. All of mine are too tight (the devil jeans) or too loose/dodgy zip etc etc
But they will be cheap and cheerful ones as they don't need to be particularly fancy, they just need to fit!
Seeing my nan for lunch also, will have to try something different today as I am so bored of the bacon & cheese omelette I always have :rotfl: we go to a cafe though, so it's hard to find something not toooo unhealthy
Taking the kids to play mini golf later, £23 for all of us for one game which is 18 holes which I think is more than enough with 2 kids in tow. Not a bad price for 4 people I thought! OH is coming down to me with them which I thought was fair as I will be going up to them on Sunday and driving back down the same day, so we will each have done the trip once
