My Ikea family card arrived this morning. You should have seen the queues yesterday evening on the A2 at Tillysburn when the preview was over!

What are they going to learn? Something like "This is Gridlock, get used to it there's nothing you can do about it!" But as long as IKEA paid for the trip it might be useful I suppose.

I'd expect they will need to learn some crowd control techniques, especially when the type of crowd will include everyone from young children to OAPs. At the opening of an Ikea store in Saudi (of all places!) someone fell in the rush when the store opened its doors and the person died. It's not impossible for such an incident to occur at Belfast - so the PSNI may as well be prepared and know how to deal with potential problems of that nature.

My Ikea card thingy arrived today as well. Am going to go in February I think, on a Wednesday, and will leave home at around six in the morning...anything not to get squashed in a queue...
  • I consider myself to be a self-confessed shopaholic, (who always reads the small print....) A few months back, when Ikea were advertising in the Belfast Telly for staff for the new store,I noticed a seperate,small,'non-descript' advert advertising for drivers to apply to be part of the Ikea home delivery service........what ever that means ?!?!? I assume that because it mentioned Ikea by name that it was either posted by them, or at least done with their approval.
I HOPE SOME VAN DRIVERS APPLIED !!!!!!!!!!
