Mine said 992 days. Wrong. And it didn't reject the new being same as the old.0

Took me four goes, got on then promptly thrown off again. Wonder what will happen when I try to get on tomorrow0

Your password is 4745 days old, and has therefore expired.
Please change your password using this page.
Am I the winner? Exactly 13 years my calculator tells me.
Fortunately it let me change it to the same as before, so I dont have to remember another new password.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
I changed mine slightly ("4-thousand-and-something days") updated email address, logged in okay and was using the old green format as usual; then clicked on the next page of the thread I was on, and suddenly I was on the new format. Came onto this thread to see if I could find out what was happening; was suddenly asked to log in again, did so, and now am back on the old format (thank goodness). Goodness knows what's going on :eek:0

MSE email this morning asking me to try my old password, can only think they did not read my email telling them that the PW I thought it was, was not and that my old email address is no longer accessible. I know it is irrational that I would like the old one back but it did see me through some tough monetary times. Going back as a Newbie is not the same.
BTW I now see what the apostrophe thread was about.Paddle No 21:wave:0 -

I'll try to alert the team, but it is the weekend.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

811 days for me which is the number of days since I registered with the MSE forum. The date is on my profile page if anyone think I am a bit sad for remembering that.
I guess that everyone was given the number of days since they registered unless they had changed their password before.
The latest advice is that there is no need to regularly change passwords unless there is a suspicion that they may have been compromised. I suspect that MSE may have either had some security concerns or that this is part of their recent anti spam measures.0 -
They must have been hacked I suppose?
I don't see any other logical reason why everybody should need to change their password.
Yep, seems a very odd thing to do with any preannouncement /warning or done in batches etc. Can't believe a site such as this wouldn't also immediately be open about having been hacked
I know it is hardly the most important website anyone visits but not having a secure server even for password resets is bonkers.I think....0 -

Nice bit of forward planning there!
Force a change of password (no need to be eagle eyed, it's bloody obvious when you can't log in) on a Friday afternoon when they know there will be limited help (to sort out all the crap that will ensue) available over the weekend.
Sometimes I wonder what the forum team are on. :whistle:0 -
And having logged in / changed password yesterday, got presented with the new ghastly pink site today. Then had to log in again.
Maybe I missed a "keep me logged in" box, but didn't think i had!0
