Late start for me this morning, trying to plan out the rest of my financial year. I will need to have £10k in July to part pay my taxes which I had 'forgotten' about in my planning which is bothersome. That means saving my contract job monies for tax paying over the next 3 months. I think that means that for the next 3 months I will pay about £1k per month off my mortgage from my pension and EBaying. However in September and October I will have the next lot of 6 months rent from my tenants which will be £10k. It will be a close run thing but I think I will manage to pay off my mortgage by the end of the year, not quite clear how I will pay the rest of my tax bill in January though. Deep thought underway.

Last big lump pay off for a while I have just been paid for my March contract, £3000 paid off today. I will be saving contract monies now to pay my July tax payment.

Tax saving turns out to be nowhere near as exciting as getting to the end of the mortgage. I am just getting on living on my pension, when I get paid for my contract work at the end of the month it will go straight to the tax payment. I am hoping to save at least £500 from my pension towards the mortgage at the end of the month. I am doing a bit of EBaying but it is slow and low. On the other hand I might have a short holiday if I can get a deal for £500 or less to somewhere nice in a good hotel. I have been asked to review some grant bids which I am doing for £100 per bid hopefully that will also be paid this month.

I have begun to !!!!! out my seedlings and get the greenhouse properly fired up, it will be lovely to see the sun later this week and to do a bit of pottering planting. The camelias and the magnolia are flowering, England is so beautiful in the spring.

Things have been much quieter this month, but I did know that would happen. I have managed to pay £1,000 off the mortgage, and save towards the imminent tax bill so not too bad. I am on track to be mortgage free by the end of the year, possibly by October.
