My free Kaspersky from Barclays is due to be renewed in 14 days. I have clicked on "renew", and have received an email confirming I am a Barclays customer and I have received an activation code. I have entered this activation code and a message comes up that this code will activate a new license when the old one expires. No mention of any payment ? Or will this come when the new license actually ativates?

If its paid for via BB then it comes up before you get the code message .

I have NEVER paid for internet security. When I bought my laptops, years ago, Norton was already installed. I downloaded the Norton removal tool, got rid of it, and installed AVG or Avast (I have Avast now), and Malwarebytes which I run occasionally. Also, ccleaner run weekly keeps the system running nicely. On my Apple desktop I have Malwarebytes and ccleaner for iMac, and of course it has its own firewall etc. I have had no problems in the last 20 years, except for an episode of non-malicious but irritating adware which I was able to remove quickly.

I think that private users don't need to spend money on security, unless they visit really really dodgy sites.

Well I have got the activation code and imput that, it tells me it has been accepted and that I am a confirmed Barclays customer and my renewal will start after the 14 days on the old license has expired. No mention of any payment anywhere ??

rumour has it that someone else is paying for the license when you putin the code:-)
