There's nothing to stop you placing his reg on this thread

Nothing apart from the fact that there is no verifiable proof of the claim and they could be accusing a totally innocent person of theft.
Even if it's 100% correct, the van might be shared by two or more people so posting the registration number may not be of any help.

    The poster seems absolutely certain.
There is no harm in a vehicle being used by two or three people being flagged up. I'm sure the vans feelings wont be hurt
It's a bit of a challenge to him..;)
  • Hi
I would just like to post this as i am sure i am not the only one it has happened to,
I was expecting a delivery yesterday for a camera of a value of £400
I checked the amazon status of the delivery and it said that the parcel was delivered to a neighbour
I thought this was strange as all my parcels previously have been left in a shed at the side of my house. I went to see my neighbour who had been in all day and had no deliveries of any kind.
I have cameras on the front of my house which are recording constantly. My next thought was too look back at the days recording to see what happened.
In looking at the recording it clearly showed the delivery van pulling on to my drive, getting out with the parcel and attempting delivery to my door.
He got no answer and walked across the drive and just stood there for some reason,
He then got back into his van with the parcel and drove off,

He put down on his electronic gadget that he had left it with a neighbour,

Definitely no parcel left as I can see him driving off with the parcel,

I have reported all this to amazon so it will be interesting how they deal with it

I think I'd have let them investigate before they posted this online.

I have had the odd delivery issue with amazon, had one recently where it showed as delivered and we hadn't had an attempted delivery.

Contacted amazon who were great to be honest, extended my Prime, gave me a refund and said to keep the item if it turned up.

It did turn up a couple of days later, turns out it had been left with one of our neighbours but had been flagged as delivered to us instead, not that it should have been delivered to the neighbours anyway as we were in at the time.

Actually spookily I can now add my negative experience to this as well.

Just had an order put in for a Samsung Galaxy S9+ from Amazon Germany (much cheaper than UK but still an expensive order), ite m was delivered today, amazon box was fine and hadn't obviously been tampered with, but inside the phone box had been opened and the phone stolen at some stage before delivery.

So now I have the fun of trying to resolve with amazon Germany (amazon UK have no visibility of the order and can't help)

Just to add on this amazon have refused to issue a refund, so have had to raise a dispute with my credit card provider.

So you can pretty much reverse my previous positive opinion on amazon's customer service!

Why would you not buy from Amazon again ?

They aren't at fault, yes it looks like some light fingered soul has helped themselves to a laptop but don't blame Amazon.

Was the box sealed when he opened it ?

I buy a lot from Amazon and like you have had the rare occasion about a product that had not been delivered. The last time was 2 weeks ago. I contacted them and I got an email immediately apologising and a full refund was in my bank account in 2 days.

My experience of them is their customer service is amazing. I bought a product 3 years ago which kept failing. I loved the product and Amazon have replaced it 3 times. The last replacement failed after 14 months so I ordered a different brand and contacted Amazon about the whole issue. They phoned me to talk about it and as a gesture of goodwill are refunding the original cost and will discuss it with the firm. The new product arrived imndciately so I think they escalated my delivery option.

Ps in case anyone wonders why I kept asking for a replacement it is a heated pad for my arthritis and when it doesn't cut out it is brilliant.

Thanks. The issue was finally sorted 3 weeks after the goods were stolen in transit. It took a LOT of phone calls and, in the end, an email to Jeff Bezos's office. We were promised a refund "within 24 hours" more than once, and then had to chase every other day, I think we would have been less furious of the customer service people were able to answer straightforwardly about their internal process and the ACTUAL time it would take to get a refund but we kept being promised something would happen when it didn't and then we had to chase. We did get a crime number just to make sure. Amazon basically made it as difficult as it could be. We bought the same laptop from John Lewis, which by the time we had our money back had dropped to a lower price than Amazon's. We will be restricting our Amazon purchases to digital downloads from now on
glad for you that you got it sorted!
I am currently going through something similar with a mobile phone delivery: the parcel looked in good condition when it was delivered, and all accessories were in the box (thus making it heavy enough)- but NO PHONE. Amazon is claiming the delivery was complete and refuse to give a refund. They have not asked to have the box sent back.

I am guessing it went missing in the warehouse (or never made it out of the manufacturing plant) but they are not interested. I have reported the issue to the police and provided Amazon with a crime reference number which they do not accept as sufficient.
I am now going through a Right of Access Request with the Met police to get my crime report but wonder if Amazon will budge even once they have the report....
How did you go around getting the refund in the end?
