Contacting the seller/buyer on Facebook?

Hell no. Why on earth would you want to do this?
But then again, I don't have a Facebook account

We negotiatiated our sale with the sellers privately.
The estate agent was useless and didn!!!8217;t even inform them they had an offer. We even got invited for tea and cake to view the place and measure up and were able to ask questions about the house like what paint was used, where the tiles were from, even got introduced to some of the neighbours.0 -
But did you do this through Facebook?0

what is "Facebook" and why would I use it for anything?0

If you need to ask?

Personally I wouldn't have a problem with it. I'm not saying you need to become Facebook friends, but contact via Facebook messenger means you don't have to give out your mobile phone number, so it is the way of making contact without divulging any information other than your name.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. 100% no. I'm astounded at the amount of times this crops up on this forum. Incredibly bad form. It's a social site for people to interact with people of their choice. If my buyers or vendor used it to contact me, I'd ignore it and plead ignorance!2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0

Well in 2009 you were using it for a group based on your parish boundary..........

I would be open to direct communication for a house trade. I dont use facebook but would be happy to talk via email.0

The person I am buying from (exchange next week hopefully) has my mobile number and an email address for me and it has been invaluable as their solicitors have been useless from day one and ignored everything for weeks (physical solicitors not a cheap online conveyancer either) so we have been dropping each other mails to say x sent to your solicitor and then a little chat about life to go with to keep things nice and polite.
We aren't friends and won't be but sometimes it can help because if I have any urgent questions when I move there is already a dialogue and they are likely to answer / engage than ignore me.
I do think Facebook friends is a step too far though unless it's purely messenger to keep a dialogue open such as in our circumstances.0
