Aww thanks all. Always love to wake up to lots of posts. Happy New Year to you all. I don't want C19 to rob me of the joy of living - and want to make sure I extract the most I can out of 2021.
Targets for 2021
1) Clear CC debt £15,212 @ 0% (assuming we both keep our jobs)
CC4 £3323 - current target card - plan to clear in February
CC3 £4795 - plan to clear in March
CC2 £5623 - plan to clear in May
CC1 £1470 - plan to clear in June
2) Lose weight - at least a stone preferably a lot more
3) Write regularly - complete a first draft of a YA Fantasy novel by Easter
4) Promote book(s) - considering blogging, podcasts and the like - will spend on advertising once I have positive reviews
5) Develop passive income streams - as point 4 but also through S&S ISA
6) Build 3-6 mths Emergency Fund/Savings pots (& move towards becoming mortgage neutral) £7.5-15K (currently at £1.2K)
7) Declutter - Remove 104 bin bags worth of stuff from the house (sell, donate, bin)
As at 1am I was at 9638 words of a book I started on Boxing Day. I am hoping to write as much as I can between now and my return to work on Monday. I would like a first draft of around 50,000-70,000 words by Easter ready for editing.
My daughter still owes us £635 from buying her IPAD - so as she reduces her debt to us that will help with debt clearance. Worst case she is due her child trust fund in May and can pay us out of that.
I'm considering setting up a podcast. DH could probably borrow a microphone from work for me - so I may do some trial runs using that before I commit to buying my own. See if I even enjoy it. I own various websites - but haven't completed the set up of any. Oops. Would be good to resolve that.
We're not currently planning any further home improvements unless we put the house on the market - in which case I'd be tempted to repaint some of the rooms and re-carpet the hall, stairs and landing.
