Thanks all for commenting - it does help. My glasses came to £39 - I had miscalculated. OH has decided to try Varifocals and has ordered his pair. Hoping to find out by the end of the week if he has got the new job.... Really hope he has....

DS comes home Saturday which is lovely but we won't see him until like 11pm at the earliest as we are at a conference. A friend has agreed to pick him up and I've said we will give him £20 for the petrol. A bit concerned what it will do to my food bill him being home - which is why if I didn't need to give him the other half of the uni money that would be really helpful.

Been awake for hours so done some craft stuff, some journalling and made leek and potato soup using pre cut veg from the supermarket. Just had Baked oats for breakfast with Muller light vanilla yoghurt and clementines. Very tasty. About an hour or so later I had half a chicken fillet and the soup.... Really hope I lose weight this week but I did eat out twice at the weekend which won't have helped with that as I didn't stick to plan.

Should get a bit of exercise later as I am going on a trip out to see another site but a morning full of meetings before then. Have a good day all.

Thanks again Jwil, Milann, Drawingaline and Onedaysomeday for posting.

£360 car loan and £51.50 dental loan already gone out this month...

Baked oats taste like a sponge cake if you put enough vanilla essence in. I batch cook and then cut up into squares like flapjack and reheat for about a minute but you can eat it cold. I then have it with my fruit of choice and a vanilla Mu...er light yoghurt.

Feels like I am plodding along this month. DS comes home tomorrow. We are out all day for the next couple of days and I am unsure what that will mean financially. Planning to fill up on breakfast before we go but will still end up with some meals out... No access to a fridge as far as I know or microwave so limited options. Worried we could easily end up spending £40 a day between two of us just on food / eating out.

Thanks Milann - We had a really good time. We did get the odd free meal or drink which helped but still spent quite a bit.

We are now booked to go away for 4 nights next week to a cottage with a lovely woodburning stove. Have agreed will give DS less this month as he is home for most of the month - will use that towards our time away as a couple. DS has managed to get his job back at the supermarket over Easter so hopefully will be able to pay some of his own way next term. DS has agreed to look after DD for us at home.

Life still feels utterly manic. Looking forward to being able to unwind while we are away. May take some of my craft stuff with me though as I think I will miss it otherwise.... Not sure how DH will react to that though. Also want to take some reading. Need to dig out our latest National Trust cards too so we can visit places at low cost.

I have used some of my craft items as leaving presents and have also agreed 2 more craft sales to friends - and have a potential third in the making so sales are picking up... At the moment it doesn't feel like it will be a major money earner but if it even covered the costs of my hobby that would be a good start.

I know I have been absent for a while. I am still on the wagon though - just taking it a bit slower.

Good news - I have cancelled two credit cards today which had a 12K limit between them so that reduces my available credit. I had also spent on a CC as DS's phone broke but just paid that off before the statement even arrived.

OH has done his pothole claim - still waiting to hear back from that
He has had new glasses but got given a total receipt of #180 - so hope to be able to reclaim that in this month's expenses
Planning to sell our Wii and accessories and games - to help fund DD's birthday present
Have finally sent my book off to 3 agents - need to send to more
Am at least 12000 words into book 2....
Have lots of craft stock - so need to find a craft fair and book in...

    So busy, busy, busy....
