best..?hmm have to have a think about that one!
worst; being told by a nurse at the local hospital that they save and freeze all the placenta's and sell them to ponds (for the face cream!)  ok it was in the 80's and i never did find out if it was true or not
worst; again in the 80's when pocket money was short i used to use sugar and water instead of hairspray, i used to backcomb my hair to death then damp it with sugar and water and it was pretty much a guarantee that my hair wouldn't move for the next week and to wash it was a nightmare!!totally a tog!:D0 -
Best:
*Always use sunscreen, no matter what, I had one of those sundamage scans done and I have less damage than most 12 year olds which in turn will lead to fewer wrinkles woo-hoo
*Bodybrushing regularly reduces ingrowing hairs, pimples on bingo wings and increases skin tone
Worst:
*Sorry to all those converts, have to disagree with Palmers cocoa butter, bought the fragrance-free one and it caused a terrible blistering reaction all over my legs and arms that lasted for days.
*"Use vaseline as a barrier to stop hairdye getting on your face".....pah, I ended up with a halo of boils that lasted for a week!
*"Lush things are good for sensitive skin as they are natural" Bought the magnaminty scrub, used it in my upper arms and chest and ended up covered in whiteheads, not attractive at all
*"Clinique makeup is amazing" not on my face its not, it slides off within 20 minutes and makes me look flaky and ill0 -
Best:
I have just started using naked bodycare shampoo and conditioner, they are 97% natural and free from sulfates, petrochemicals and parabens. My hair has never been so soft. They are cheap too compared to other natural brands like Neals yard remedies and Ren. £3.99 each, and boots often do a 2 for £6 offer.
I started using this and it was lovely then my local boots stopped stocking it! :rolleyes:0 -
you can also get the products from their website www.nakedbodycare.co.uk but there is a delivery charge.
Not buying clothes for a year - it's liberating!0 -
Floyd, I'm really interested in hearing how often you apply sunscreen on a normal day in the winter. I'm all for using sunscreen as I believe it does a lot of good and I have sunscreen in my face moisturiser that I use in the morning - but surely this sun protection doesn't last all day [normal sunscreens say re-apply every x hours]? Or am I meant to reapply at lunch time? Obviously if I'm in the sun a lot I would apply sun lotion, but for just being out and about sometimes during the day what do you do?
Best beauty tip I've had: I have very thick curly hair and when I wash and condition my hair I use a bit of honey with my conditioner [wash out as normal]. I do this regularly and it has definitely helped the condition of my hair and made it a lot easier to tame/style.0 -
My beauty tip would be bio-oil. Fantastic stuff! Also Dr Hauschka rose cream - I use the smallest amount and it moisturises my face and neck really well.
Worst is Nads hair removing sugar wax. Cannot work with the stuff at all...BCSC Member 70:j

For normal grey days I use Elemis liquid layer which is an SPF 30 sunblock, they only suggest applying it once a day over moisturizer but under makeup so I stick with that. My foundation is SPF 15 but I don't always wear it thats why I started with the Elemis.
I suspect (although I'm not 100% sure) that the reason other sunblocks advise re-applying is because they are generally used in environments where you sweat alot and get wet on holiday in the bright sun. Some also ontain lots of chemicals which are photosensitive and break down after a certain amount of time. The elemis one contains a mineral block which lasts longer on the skin as it forms a physical reflective barrier.
Hope that helps

My worst would be to put Brylcreem on your skin to tan (back in the 70's) thank goodness I never tried it as the person that told me this is very wrinkly now:D
Best is to eat natural unprocessed foods as much as possible and cook in olive oil. This seems to help my very dry skin:T0 -
best is definately vaseline to remove eye make - up... takes off waterproof as well with no fuss and conditions your eyelashes too..
worst is using cooking oil to get a tan... long, long time ago.. its very dangerous and i hope no-one reading is silly enough to try it!£608.98

Best: put a little light blue, cream eyeshadow under your eyes to temporaily erase black shadows (it works, just do it carefully)
Worst: i once used hair remover cream on my eyebrows (it did say NOT to use there) and i had two big scabs on my brows for weeksThe first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter
