    • Don't pull your hair back tightly as this will give you a residing hairline. I didn't listen to this unfortunately and I'm gutted now as I've got a little hair loss on the sides of the top of my forehead. I'm only a young 'un so am a bit gutted
    • Wear a bra to bed. My mum told me to do this when I first started wearing a bra so my breasts didn't become saggy. I've done this ever since and all my friends look at them in amazement when we go out and I have a top on that you can't wear a bra with. They're so high up and I'm an E cup! Now I know some will think this increases the risk of breast cancer, but I really haven't seen any conclusive evidence for that thought. Each to their own, I say!
    • Try to avoid shaving and only wax. I'm glad I did as I'm now lasering the hair off my legs and am adament that it's working so well because they became thinner and thinner with the waxing. I've finished lasering my underarms and they are amazingly silky now!
    • A hollywood wax will change your life; certainly did :p
    • Blend tomato and cucumber together to form a face mask. It absolutely stinks but once it dries and is washed off, your skin is baby soft.
    • Use cotton buds to get black eyeliner neat, tidy and straight.
    Worst:
    • Use a clothes iron on your hair to get it straight. This was something my mum did in the 70's and told my sister about it. She then did it a lot when she was younger and her hair turned straw-like and very brittle.

I have just started using Pond's Cold Cream and its fab. Works just as well as Liz Earle's C&P (not tried Eve Lom as won't pay the £££££!) and takes off ALL my makeup. I have oily skin and remove it with a hot flannel and it takes off all my eye makeup almost first swipe. Plus it costs about £3

Just an update on this. I no longer swear by it! I've ended up with really sore, dry and sensitive eyes following continued use of Ponds. I am not sure if its the perfume in it, or something else. I did try Boots' own brand (200ml for £2 compared with Ponds 75ml for £3 btw) and had the same problem, although I am sure they are the same product as the smell is IDENTICAL. I've had to go back to using the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, as its much better of my eyes.
  • Best: also Palmer's Coco Butter, fantastic and cheap.

When i was younger and had a brakout of spots, i used to use Wright's Coal Tar Soap followed a light moisturiser and wake up to clear skin

Sleep - as much and as often as you can get it

Bin the foundation sponges, even if you wash them regularly, they harbour bacteria. Use a clean finger instead.

Worst: apply lip balm regularly for soft lips. I did this years ago and the oil in the balm seeped into the skin around by mouth, blocking pores and causing excess spottage. Leave the lip blam until you really need it.

Best for skin, hair and nails - good old fashioned water - drink lots of it, I hardly ever moisturise and have the occasional dermalogica facial.

Worst stuff for me - M&S lipstick as it gives me lips that look as though I have had a huge dose of botox:eek:

Oh yeah and my mate is a witch - she pointed out that I never get spots well, I didn't until she said that...grrr.

:( I was going to try the ponds cold cream after reading the earlier posts, but don't think I'll risk it now. I have really sensitive skin and the Liz Earle cleanse & polish is just lovely and has never caused any problems...but its not very economical.

You might be ok if you use it for your skin, and use something else for eye makeup.
  • Best tip is use sunscreen.

Best tip: Milk of Magnesia dabbed on and left to dry on your face to remove blackheads. Once dried rinse off. Read that on here, can't remember who originally posted it but it works better than those biore strips.

Worst: cheap fake tan, just comes out streaky and orange. Better spending a bit more money on it to get a better result.

I have just started using naked bodycare shampoo and conditioner, they are 97% natural and free from sulfates, petrochemicals and parabens. My hair has never been so soft. They are cheap too compared to other natural brands like Neals yard remedies and Ren. £3.99 each, and boots often do a 2 for £6 offer.

    Worst:
SK-II facial treatment essence. incredibly expensive and I haven't noticed a difference in my skin :(
Not buying clothes for a year - it's liberating!

Never seen that brand of shampoo and conditioner will need to look out for it thanks.
