Eldest Son has no hot water. I need a holiday from this lot. *sigh*.

Judi, what does he expect you to do about it?

Take a holiday from them, they will survive without you :) xxx

When did you become a plumber?

If I had no hot water I would contact a plumber or landlord and in the meantime boil a kettle and wash using a flannel.

As a child and a teenager we did not have hot water - we boiled a kettle or put on the immersion heater. I remember being very cross with my Mum when she and dad came to stay and I asked DH why I had no hot water coming from the tap so I could do dishes and she said happily that she did not want to waste the hot water so she has used it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • I'm recording "Requiem", I agree it looks promising, I certainly hope it is because I find it difficult to find anything I want to watch!

Oooh it was a bit spooky but I quite enjoyed it and looking forward to the next episode. I agree though, there is very little worth watching on tv these days. We have about a million channels with Virgin and we can wade through and find nothing to watch on any of them!!

He wanted a shower which would have been no problem but he lives about 5 miles away. Youngest has gone out and Grump didnt get back from work till 8, driving almost 5 hours to get here. There was no way he was going to drive to fetch him and take him back. I feel bad because he had been to work and just from the video call i could see he was filthy but the offer to fetch him had to come from Grump and not me and i could tell from his face when i was on the video call it was a no go.

Youngest, amongst the other apprentices were kicked off site for not leaving the site the night before in an 'orderly fashion'. Foot to the floor from a standing start in their motors. Whilst Youngest admitted to his part in it he moaned he was only in 1st gear. Someone had complained about the noise. He and the other two will have a disciplinary next week.

Grump went to the police station on his way back from work and they were indeed glad he called in. Apparently someone else had been in too. The man who got hit tried to walk in front of another motor before he was finally hit but they managed to swerve to miss him. The man in the van didnt.

Grump is tired, hasnt said a lot but seems ok. I guess i'll know more tomorrow.

    Sleep well all.

    Hi all
Thanks for mentioning "Requiem", Holly, I had forgotten about it. I've got my fingers in my ears in case someone tells me the plot because I'll have to get Mr Fix It to download it tomorrow. We have S*y and you're right. sometimes there doesn't seem anything worth watching from hundreds of channels,
At the moment I'm sat in bed next to sleeping beauty ( DGS :rotfl:). Bless him he didn't need much rocking ! He says he wants to sleep in with me when he's all grown up too . Out of the mouths of babes eh!
Good night all, sweet dreams xx

I’ve been staying up late to watch back-to-back episodes of ‘Inside No. 9’ on BBC iPlayer. I’ve never watched any of it before and was enthralled at the clever plots, pared back production and fabulous acting.

Now it’s time for lights out.
