Congratulations Elona.
I've got a busy day in store, making freezer meals for DD for the next month while her DH is in India. I made veg lasagne's and a big pot of moroccan chicken soup yesterday and today I will be making somerset bean stew and the mushroom base of mushroom and parsnip pie. She prefers to eat vegetarian when she can. I'll keep some meals back for us as well.
Then the house needs doctoring for Ziggypup who we'll be having for a few days. In particular the light blue settee needs covering and everything removing from the bedside tables. She's not a bad puppy but she loves exploring bedside tables, especially if they have tubes of cream on them, she doesn't chew them but they end up with teeth marks in them!
Then we will be going down to collect her from DD's - I'm not looking forward to the traffic on the M25.0 -
Morning all,
Great to hear of your OH's progress Csarina. Long may it continue.
Redruby How embarrassing for you. We go to the garden centre several times a year and could easily take our hounds but the fear of them leaving a 'deposit' puts me off. Especially with the eldest hound, i swear she marks her scent by leaving a deposit. She drops a bit every few feet.
Well the week has been difficult emotionally. As much as i love them, my family is sucking the life out of me but i'm thankful i have my health... Always something to be thankful for.
Not expecting grump back till late tonight. He's got the 4 hour drive home and he is stopping in at the police station on the way home. He has a piece of information that may be relevant and he didnt exactly stick around when the emergency services came after the accident. Important or not, the driver still faces a life term for driving under the influence.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Good Morning chums and thank you all for your good wishes .Well our lovely Frank had a perfect send off.The service was held by a lay preacher locally to where they live.He was really good Their church runs a club for pensioners called GOD meaning growing old disgracefully which they both attended.
It was a really good service and all the grandchildren joined in and told stories about their Grandpa Lots of folk had anecdotes about him and his life My DD read out a eulogy also my granddaughter and her cousin.Although a sad occasion there were many references to his love of football (ardent Chelsea supporter) and how well he got on with young people The crematorium was packed full and he would have been surprised I think and how well he was thought of as he was such an unassuming chap who always had a smile for everyone. The leader of his local gym club that he went to the Ace of Heart (specially for chaps who had survived heart surgery, he had gone through several stents and a by pass op in his 70s) made a great speech which every one clapped, bless him.
So he was done proud by everyone who knew him.Margaret was amazing and she coped very well, at 81 she is made of strong stuff and we sat and had a good natter at the wake. So today she must start to slowly rebuild her life and we will all be there to give her a hand .Thanks once again chums for all your good wishes xx
Well, looking out of the window in my tiny study, it looks fine and sunny ,but I have a feeling its also a bit on the nippy side as well. The wind yesterday was pretty cutting.
This afternoon I have History club which I always look forward to. So far I don't need any food shopping this side of the weekend and I will be eating up my freezer stuff as much as I can instead.
I saw some reduced Gammon in Dobbies the other day and I am so tempted to return and buy one They are huge and obviously left over from Christmas .They are dated until 8th February so I will see if there are any left next Tuesday and may get one then At the moment they are reduced from £21 to £10.00 but even cut in half to make two large roasts they are well worth getting.
Not a lot else going on at the moment DGS Ben has an interview today with Goldsmiths to see about his PGTC He had one at his on Uni in Norwich yesterday and his other choice is Goldsmiths in London .I think he is hoping to get Norwich as it means he can stay in his present accomodation for at least another year, as London accommodation is so expensive. We shall see what the outcome is no doubt.
Right time to get a wriggle on as I have some Friday Tidying to getting on with
Have a good day everyone and keep well wrapped up and warm if you can

Busy day today ...frustrating piece of work to try and finish off this morning dont think its gone down well that I am doing it as an external so not getting much support. Women can be such bi***es:(
Having a break for late brekky boiled egg and toastand a nosy through old style
Carpet man came round yesterday and did a really good job..I had almost forgotten the original colourIt was good excuse to do some decluttering too so a large bag left out for charity and thats just a start
The food relay continues with sausage mash and beans last night and planning on a slow cooker sausage casserole today with the rest of the pack. This will probably yield about 4 portions so one for me one for mother and 2 for the freezer. Jackiemum I have a very large gammon in the fridge which needs cooking this weekend too so that is going to be a mega relay
Right cant really put this off much longer so back to work and enjoy your days all:A0 -
Morning (just).
I am mid- Friday Tidy and having a quick sit down while the kitchen floor dries. My life is full of glittering excitement and spontaneous fun.
It's really cold and I've just put the heating on, even cleaning isn't keeping me warm. But the sun is shining and towels are dancing on the line.
I think that wretched floor Is about dry now, bother. Better crack on.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning all
Just wrote a long post and lost it .
So the gist of it is...
Feel good today, had a good sleep
Weather sunny but chilly, found out when filled the bird feeders.
Bed stripped, WM on, hoovered downstairs. Mr Fix It is attacking the kitchen with the steam mop. Training paying off at last :rotfl:
DGS coming for a sleepover tonight, so have locked up fridge, freezer and any cupboard that contains food .
This pm must remake bed, maybe do ironing, but only 5 items so not desperate.
Nelski Hold that space ! Dad's probably making up some evil magic spells as we speak :rotfl:
JackieO glad that yesterday went well
Cranky hope the leg continues to improve
ScarlettR hope today goes well, we have one on Tuesday
Judi stay strong lovely. Sending special hugs
Sorry there were more posts I wanted to reply to but I'm losing the willand Mr Fix It is ranting about the NHS ( where's the roll eyes smilie ? ) Must get on now, coffee break finished about 20 mins ago . Oh OK, another one will set me up nicely for the afternoon. Thanks :rotfl:. Hugs to all.

Afternoon all
Cold but lovely and sunny here. I have had a whirly full of washing out. My DD's washing has just come in and is being finished in the tumble dryer, she and DGS live in a flat so I am often drying her washing as she doesn't want to have any mould or damp areas.
UH had to pick DGS up from nursery yesterday and take him today as DD has a horrible cold. She went to work yesterday but felt so ill. I insisted that she didn't try to go in today. He will shortly be going to pick DGS up and I will drop off on the way down to see if she wants a hand with anything.
JackieO glad the funeral went well yesterday.
Csarina I am so pleased that DH is feeling better.
Elona congratulations.
Well hugs and spoons to all who need them. Hugs for the poorlies. have a nice afternoon all.

Oh dear Judi, it never ends, does it.
I have done more Friday Tidy but have stopped now as Certain Persons, just for the sake of convenience I shall call them my family, seem bent on the Friday Untidy. Plus doing warthog washing in the clean bathroom, at least I know it is clean underneath.
Last load of the day in the washing machine. Hoovering now completed.
Am going to sew up a knitted babygro for a tiny little bear and then footle about, am struggling a bit what with 3 hours sleep.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Well the settee jumped into my shopping basket, was disappointed that I had to take my third choice of fabric, but its ok with DB's chair. 4 weeks for delivery. Cannot wait.
DB was ok whilst I was away our friends stayed with him until I got back and J got me a very welcome cup of tea when I walked in.
Cleaners have been, so the house is clean and tidy and I got the front window cleaned inside so the world outside looks better!!
I am crackered part of the journey was on the M1 which is a nightmare at the best of times.0
