    Did you submit witness statement and evidence or, given the lack of notice, are you out of time to do so? Did you complete a DQ before you went travelling? If so, did you explain you would be away and give dates when you would not be available?
  • Yea I’ve done all of those things and followed the guidelines here in sticky. Also this was an emergency. I didn’t run out of time as everything was submitted when it was due.

    Well that looks a bit more hopeful now.

    CEL often discontinue late on in the process when defendants have jumped through all of the hoops and submitted everything on time. Had this been a weekday I'd have recommended you phone the court to check that the hearing was actually going ahead, but as it's the weekend you won't get through.

    The cases I've read where CEL have turned up tend to be in the London/SE region - are you in that area? Ignore their Liverpool 'address', that's just a mail drop.

    I wouldn't read it as 'bad news'. It's an opportunity to see the whites of the eyes of your pursuant (or their advocate), and if you've submitted a sound defence and good evidence, a chance (with a decent Judge, but not all are!) to watch them go through the wringer instead of you! :)

    Phew, that's not so bad then. Can you pull together copies of your defence, Witness Statement, evidence and cost file to take with you. Read through them and prepare your case in your head.
  • Ok thanks guys. I will update on Monday.
  • Hi guys currently in court and they turned up. UKPC. They have the pictures and evidences and stuff. I was wondering if it’s a good idea to try and settle on a lower amount ?!

    No, why would you?
    When you say "They have the pictures and evidences and stuff" is this
    a) stuff you saw before, in THEIR ws or;
    b) new stuff?
    If new, then OBJECT BLOODY STRONGLY TO IT - they *cannot* ambush you. DO NOT agree to it being submitted now, do NOT accept anything being handed to you now, etc .
  • Hi guys I lost the case. Thanks for all your help in this matter. I really appreciate it.
