Civil Enforcement Limited Claim Form

Hello everyone, I have just received a claim form from CEL for £326.36 for parking in a KFC restaurant in April 2017. I remember ignoring the letters and now they have sent me the claim form from the court. I did enter the car park and time spent there was 2 hours and I was caught by ANPR (says so on the form).
Can I appeal this or I just have to pay it as they are threatening CCJ ?

What did you learn when you read Darkin43's thread with the same title as yours?
Of course you cannot 'appeal' a claim form. Do the AOS first, as you will (hopefully) have read when you first looked at the sticky thread at the top of the forum:
NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST.
What you need to do, is defend, then follow all court letters/directions properly, and then CEL will later discontinue, as you will learn when you read all the other CEL court threads (no-one has to go to a hearing an no-one here has lost).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I apologise. I was meant to ask what and how I go about it. I have read a few threads and it!!!8217;s a lot of information which gets a bit confusing. Once again sorry ...0

I have read a few defences on here and they seem to have have actual defences which I don’t have. Is there a generic defence I can compile and send ?0
-
No generic defence and there shouldn't be.
Post #2 of NEWBIEs sticky thread near the top of the forum is where you look to do your AOS.
Then as mentioned in the same sticky thread:
Search for CEL and cut and paste from other thread's(cases) relevant bits from their defences to make your own tailored defence.0 -
I have done my AOS already. Just need to prepare my defence now. Thanks0

All the CEL defences you see here are pretty generic, didn't you think? Copy one & adapt it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences.
Parking Eye, Smart and a smaller company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (who take hundreds of these cases to court, and nearly always lose), who have also been reported to the regulatory authority.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.
