The share price has lifted slightly. It could have now bottomed out or this could be a classic dead cat bounce.

Personally I think the embarrassment of two big government contractors folding within weeks of each other will be too much for ministers to stomach so some sort of deal will be reached if it looks like Capita might cease trading.

The company looks to have some sort of plan in place so they might be given time.

due to imminent changes in law and extra data protection coming in , who would want buy this

it does come with hangers on , cant think of them all but CAR PARKING PARTNERSHIP LIMITED is one

do they nt have a printing settup as well that issues odd tickets?

I think the data protection thing, is probably more the reason for exit. At around the time Capita were buying Parking eye, the US relaxed laws surrounding private ANPR to allow vehicle location data to be sold to third parties, eg leasing companies or bailiffs in order to recover defaulted lease vehicles etc. i had my suspicions, that they wanted the anpr network as much as the parking tickets and were hoping to get a similar dispensation in the uk, as it would give them nationwide coverage of anpr. GDPR has probably put an end to that idea for the forseable future.

The thought did cross my mind at the same time. Then ParkingEye started charging the police £75 for each data request then I thought ..nah, just rip off merchants.

  • Pity then that the DVLA did not also charge P.E. £75
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

It looks like the slight rally they had was a dead cat bounce. Shares continue to tank.

Keep it at £2.50 but if PE, (or any PPC), breaches the Code of Practice, they agree to pay £85 to the DVLA.
