Blood Stain on Fitted Carpet

I didn't witness him wiping blood on the carpet but saw the stain just after he left. Seeing as it was a new carpet I knew that it had occurred during fitting.
I guess it was an accident and was happy to deal with the store to rectify the issue. However, seeing how they have treated us I don't see why we should clean the blood.
I know about the video as the store told me. I know that it has been shared as the store manager told me that it was shared and was on his personal phone.
The store has shown me the video and have agreed that the blood stain is visible on the video. The store has told me that taking videos is their standard company policy and is not in their contracts.
I have spoken to the police about it and they were appalled but it is not a criminal matter.
As to be being a newbie, I am sorry, I read the forum on a regular basis and had thought that people were helpful. Thankfully I have never had the need to post before.0 -
So... are you actually saying it is a video of the carpet in order for them to say 'hello carpet company, here is a photo of the carpet that I laid' rather than a treasure trail of all your goods?
Taking a photo/video of a job done and showing it to their manager is miles away from filming your whole house and contents and sharing it to random people!0 -
Maybe I value my privacy and would like to know if someone is videoing my house. Yes, I am concerned about it being shared in the wrong hands as where I live there was a carpet cleaner who used his job as a cover to case out properties. Thankfully he is now serving a jail sentence.
I know that I might be taking things out of proportion, but I think it is poor customer service to call someone a liar. Then not to apologise when you accept that it was the fitter was wrong.
I value you your comments regarding money and will take these on board, as like I say I may just be upset about the situation0 -
I can’t help thinking that my biggest concern if finding blood after having a carpet fitted would be for the well-being of the fitter, making sure he cleaned the wound and if needed had a plaster not straight away complaining and being deliberately difficult when offered two perfectly reasonable solutions0

OKay so its gone from 'videoing your whole house layout, contents and security system, and then shared it publically.' to 'he videoed the work he had done and showed it to his manager'
You are massively exaggerating and 'mountain out of a molehill' is putting it lightly.
Either get them to clean it or clean it yourself. Theyre not asking you to clean it yourself, they are giving you the materials AND paying you to do it, OR they can do it themselves and not pay you as much.
Its really truly not rocket science.0 -
Would you really rather they came out and ripped all the carpet up than just cleaning it? Surely that's much more inconvenience and time off work that being in for 30 minutes or so until they clean it for you?0

Accept the cleaning kit and use some of the £50 to pay somebody else to do it at a convenient time if you’re so adamant that you won’t do it yourself. You’ll have a clean carpet plus probably extra cleaning stuff left over for the next spill, and should have money left over from the £50.0

Call a local carpet cleaning company and get an estimate for the cost of cleaning it and then ask the shop to pay that amount.
You get a professional clean and they pay.0 -
