I'm still less than half way through your diary so don't yet know all the details but wanted to say you're inspiring. You're strength, determination and resilience make me feel I can get through my journey which is only just beginning.

I realky hope you get your debts written off! It's not like you haven't tried! Good luck x

I hope they write your debts off for you. You have struggled on and on and deserve a break. As for the family finding out about it…..it’s nothing to be ashamed of. In fact you need to be admired for persevering for so long.

I managed to contact SC today after being on hold for 40 minutes ( they are facing unprecedented demand 😟) and I have now officially stopped my DMP so will be self managed from now on 🙀😳🙀😳

I have a plan to turf out the last statement from PRA tomorrow when I get home then I'm at DD2s all day on Thursday waiting in for a delivery while she is at work so I will take the bits I need and write my letter outlining my budget then I can post it on my way home 😊

Mum and Dad were ok today although Dad did shout at Mum just as I was leaving 😟 my sister is coming down  on Thursday so that will be good for mum. I got my hair cut too so it feels much better now. I got caught in a massive thunderstorm when I left, the lightning was scary. I stood well back in the bus shelter because I was worried it would strike me 😀 there's been loads of flooding in local villages too.

I haven't done anything else today apart from a small shop. I needed wash powder and I keep running out of bread at awkward times so I bought an extra loaf for the freezer oh and some sultanas because I want to make a tea bread at the weekend. I'm going to try and make my own cakes instead of buying them when I go shopping. I do like a sweet treat but I want to try to make things so they aren't full of additives.

I'm working tomorrow but there's been a change of plan. Im now doing 9-5 in clinics instead of and early on the ward which means I can get up slightly later 🎉🎉 it's meant a change of dinner because I was going to make a curry but I know that when I get home at 6 I won't want to cook so I'm taking a pasta bake out of the freezer to have instead. I made a big roasting tin full of roasted root veg and onion and I've had that for the last four nights with sausages or Quorn chicken and peas. I've been reading Tim Spectres new book and he says that science has discovered that the nest way to get vitamins from root veg like carrots is to roast them in oil. This has made me happy because I love roasted veg 😊plus it's cheap too.

Thanks Milann. I don't want my DDs finding out about my debt because they both be very angry with me for getting myself into this mess and DD2 will worry that now she has moved out I won't have any money. It too me ages to reassure her I would be ok if she moved out and I would have been if the situation with the COL hadn't happened 😟

I've sorted out all my paperwork from PRA and have now written my letter requesting a debt write off. I am expecting the answer to be no and at the very least I will have to provide evidence of my illnesses so watch this space. I will be posting the letter later if I go past a post box if not I will post it tomorrow on my way home from work.

Work was ok yesterday but I had trouble getting home and had forgotten to get my pasta out of the freezer so ended up having cheese on toast for tea. I will have the pasta tomorrow after work instead 😀.

Im going to DD2s later to wait in for her delivery, it's arriving between four and seven so I will be staying for tea and also takin B with me as I don't want to leave her on her own in the evening because she will get upset and bark. Talking of B she led me a merry dance last night. I let her out of the front garden before I go to bed and for the last couple of nights she has just stood there not knowing when she is out there. Last night she all of a sudden went off down the steps and off up the road. I tried calling her but she is deaf and it was late so I didn't want to make too much noise. I had to grab her lead and chase her up the road in my pjs 🙀luckily it wasn't raining. She was trotting along on the route we take for her walk. I don't know why she did that she has never down it before. I will have to let her out the back now just to be safe.

I'm sending positive vibes across the country for your letter, @OBL. Definitely worth a try. I suspect, like you, that they won't budge, but if you don't ask, you'll never find out. Even if they say no this time, they may decide they're better off cutting their losses in a year or so when they are just getting token payments.
Look forward to hearing how it goes. It's the sensible option for them really, I'd have thought, as they can't have what you haven't got & it will be costing them to keep you in the system too.
    Good luck!!

I hope the letter does the trick: I'm sure there will be loads of support on these boards for you being self-managed.

How is B today? She does sound confused, but at least she seems happy to be mobile.
