  • I've not had the best day today. I've felt achey all day and really tired.
DD had to go into town to pick up an order from Boots so I went with her. We also had a look in Waterstones and I've now got a  list of books I want to read. I'm going to see if they are available at my library 😊 two are out on loan so I might reserve them. You have to pay £1 but it's cheaper than buying the book. I have books to read on my kindle so will wait until I've read them.

Im working tomorrow on a late so won't be dong anything else with my day. I really don't like lates, they mess up the whole day.

Nope it never does. The parents were out in their conservatory until  4 am last night so DD2 didn't get to sleep until after 4am. They are so noisy it's unbelievable 😡

  • Work was ok today but I didn't feel too good all day 😟I forgot to take my tablets before I went so I had raging heartburn for a few hours then the bank HCA gave me some omeprazole which got rid of it . I had to take my steroids when I got home at 8.30pm so I didn't miss a dose. I felt rough by the time I left work but I feel ok now.

Im off tomorrow and need to go to Wilkos to see if they have any chicken food. I went to order it online but it has doubled in price so I'm not buying that. Hopefully they will have some in stock 🤞

DD2 had cleaned the house when I came home today which was a nice surprise 😊

  • Yay Wilkos had chicken food 🎉🎉🎉I am all stocked up and it was £5.75 a 5kg bag instead of £14 🙀🙀

I wasn't out for long but did go to the library to pick ups couple of books I saw when we were in there on Saturday. I couldn't take them out on Saturday because I had left my card at home, luckily they were still there today.

I didnt have any house jobs to do today apart from washing the towels and changing my bed because DD2 did it all yesterday 🎉🎉🎉

I felt a lot better today too so hopefully things are settling down again with my lower dose of steroids.

Money wise I am scraping through just about. I have food to use up in the freezer so will just need bread, milk and packed lunch things. Talking of milk,  we both drink Alpro soya milk and have done for the last 11 years. This is mainly because it's sustainably sourced and no rainforests are destroyed to make it. Today however it has reached £1.95 a carton. I picked up three then put them back when I realised they would be nearly £6 for the three. I bought Sainsbury's own brand to try but I'm not sure how eco friendly it is. It's £1.15 a carton though so quite a saving for me. I could actually drink milk because I do eat cheese as I'm not vegan but equally I only use milk for tea, coffee and porridge so could do without it completely as I can drink my drinks black. I will see how I go with the Sainsbury one and decide then

I haven't tried this but I think it could be cheaper to make your own soya milk. DIY oat milk is cheap. I don't know whether commercial ones are fortified, but if you eat cheese you might be getting some of any nutritional deficit through that.

I'm glad you are a) feeling better and b) able to feed the chickens for well under £14!

That’s a big difference in chicken feed….just shows it pays to shop around. Same goes for the milk 👍

  • Woke up in a lot of pain today so called the surgery as instructed and they got a gp to phone me this afternoon which was very efficient. I have had to go back up to 12.5mgs of steroids for another 4 weeks and then be reviewed again to see if I can try and drop back down to 10mgs. Today was a reminder that although the steroids are keeping the symptoms under control I am far from recovered, it's been a nasty reminder of how bad I felt last October 😟

Despite the pain I had a good day at work. It was fairly relaxed because it's half term and some of the consultants are off on holiday so we had less clinics than normal. I did have to get the bus home though because I couldn't walk home today.

I had pasta bake defrosting in the fridge so just had to heat that up when I got in. I'm definitely going to go down the batch cooking route  when DD moves out as not only will save me money it will also save me time, fuel and energy. I'm not a keen cook so like to cook once eat four times if possible. I will also need to adjust how I use my freezer as there is the possibility that it won't be as full as it is now so filling it up with precooked meals will help with that too. I will fill any gaps with bread.

Ive also just been watching a video on no dig gardening as I want to have a go at growing  some bits myself but the physical side of it puts me off. The no dig method is the answer to this. I won't get anything planted this year because the 🐓is in the place I can use but I can do some pots and I might even plant some bits in amongst the flowers in the front garden 😊

Tomorrow Im gong to see my Mum and Dad and I'm taking B with me. They like to see her and it means she won't be on her own all day. I've got a book for mum that I found in our community library which is on our evening dog walk so I will take that tomorrow.  I was going to do some garden tidying if I got back early enough but I think I had better wait until Friday for that now
