I am super chuffed with myself today.

Felt like drinking when I got in last night, but I said to myself if I felt like drinking after a cup of tea, then I would just have some. As life is too short.

I still felt like some after the tea, but instead of having wine, opened a can of fizzy orange and said if I still felt like wine after the fizzy drink, I would open the bottle after I put the kids to bed.

And I didn't. Because the craving had pretty much gone and what is the point in opening a bottle of wine after 8.45pm when I could just do without?

So I think I will try this strategy most days. That way it doesn't feel like I'm depriving myself. More like distracting myself and if the distractions don't work, then have a drink.

I'm up to 13 including today. Counting today early as I'm on a fast day.

hey lucky fatrab if your local chippy does good chips - I have had some very underdone chips in my time
It's definitely not a good thing that I have a great chippy just along from my accommodation up north!! It's literally 100yards from my front door, next door to the pub! Talk about resisting temptation!!!!

Oh well at least it's a good thing that when you give in to the siren call of the chips it's worth it :rotfl:

Back from my short break. We had a good time and I did have a (planned) drink on Monday and Tuesday evenings but not last night as we were travelling back home.:)

Completely agree about distraction technique Pollyanna. Well done!:T Not sure chips is the best suggestion though fatrab.:D

I'm determined to get one more smiley before April's over. Hopefully on Monday if not before.
