morning everyone... here's someone who forgot the clocks went forward - good thing it's Sunday!
27/28, please Shaggy. Missed target, but compared to when I downed alcohol most nights I think it's a big big improvement. I'm going to stick to a target of 28 for April.
I hope you find your new home soon Loveasale.0 -
Early call for 13/13 for March, am the driver to mum's for Mother's Day tonight, best way as I usually need a drink after a couple of hours with my mum!
Can I sign up for the WDC for 5 please and target of 28 for April (birthday in April so leaving a few days to drink).0 -

I don't have any more AFDs to report either Arsenalbarnie but
like you haven't gone mad either. We are out for dinner tonight as well so will have some wine then as it's a celebration.
Please can I try for 4SNC this week.0 -

Why ever not? be proud of your achievement.:D :T
I love it at the end of the month watching all those AF days rolling in. We're doing really well. I know it takes a lot of personal will power and determination but the thread helps enormously. Thanks, as ever to Shaggy, for your support.:A
I did what I promised myself and stayed AF last night. So I can claim another smiley.:D
14/10 AFDs for March please.0 -
Honey Bear what kind of dog are you looking for? I'm sure the right one will find you soon.
I was looking for a collie or collie cross, the breed I know best, not a puppy but not an Oldie this time (I've lost four of them in 10 years and I just can't face it again, or at least, at the moment), stranger friendly and cat tolerant/friendly. All of those were written in stone. I've ended up choosing this one! We're waiting for a homecheck because I've never adopted from Many Tears before which should be today or tomorrow; she's due to be spayed on Monday and we'll collect her on Friday all being well. Cat tolerant/friendly collies are rare, and whenever they have appeared they've been snapped up before I saw them; all the other dogs I liked turned out to be rabid cat chasers.
I need a dog just as much as this one needs a home. She's apparently tried to be as clean as she can in her kennel so that bodes well for house-training, and I'm working out the first week's schedule with a dog-sitter for the couple of times I have to go out so she won't be on her own at all. With stranger-friendly dogs the big fear is that they develop separation anxiety (as Kelpie had, mildly) so that needs to be managed very carefully, especially to begin with. I'll go back to sleeping downstairs until she's recovered from her surgery, and it'll mean the cats won't inadvertently surprise her during the night.
I've got a friend with a couple of golden cockers and my first memories of a dog are a spaniel my father had that didn't get walked at all, living in a flat in London with three small kids, which bit two people so he had to be put to sleep. Ironically his name was Sleepy. My parents' record with dogs wasn't brilliant when I was growing up, and it's only now that I've had dogs I realise why. People can learn from mistakes.
You didn't sound at all smug Season of Mist - you sounded very balanced about it. Drinking for most of us is a habit, and finding out we can break habits without any kind hassle or pain comes as rather surprising, even more so when you realise you enjoyed yourself without booze! Well done on exceeding your target as well.
